Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Use Fall Colors

Peggy is our super talented hostess this week on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog and she has chosen the theme, Fall Colors.  I love the colors of fall and this little cutie called:  That's One Big Flower,  looks wonderful in fall colors:

Now that is one big flower and this little Sassy gal is having so much fun.  The image was colored with Copic markers and the edge was sponged with distress ink.  The base is brown cs.  A few scalloped edges and some brown checked ribbon a beautiful ivory rose on a MS punched tag and this little Golden Girl of Fall is ready to march into the season.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Flower Power

The Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week is hosted by the super talented Jackie,and the challenge is Flower Power.  I used a flower in my  image and on my creation: 

Isn't this just the cutest little flower girl, called:  A Simple Gift of a Flower?  I love her hat and the dangling flowers on her dress.  I colored her with copic markers and sponged the edge with distress ink. 
The hat was supposed to look very well loved and I tried to get it to look very distressed but it didn't show up  in the photo as much as in person.  I think I spent an hour coloring just the hat LOL.   It is done much the same as I do denim or bear fur with the copic blender marker pounced until I get the effect I want. 
I  added a little MS punched fence to give the flower garden feel and tied a brown and pink ribbon at its base.  a large pink flower which almost perfectly matches the Flower Girls flower add a special touch of Fall.  I have a very similiar  pink flower in my garden and it is beautiful, at least until the next heavy frost.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--I'm the hostess!!!

I get to be the hostess this week for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and I chose one of my favorite Themes which is Black and White and for a little color a red flower somewhere.  I love the  look of black and white photos and that is what I wanted my card to portray. Here is what I came up with using Flower Girl:

The image was colored with copic markers, of course, and sponged with distressed ink a black and white bow, a hand made red paper flower in the upper left hand corner and my little flower girl is complete.  The flowers on her bodice were high lighted with clear Atyou glitter pen as was her hair and the bows on her shoes.

As I glanced at the other DT cards I was reminded of the telephone game, you know the one where you whisper something in the ear of the person next to you and by the time it gets to the last person it has completely changed.  That is kind of what this challenge turned into. I have been kind of out of the loop for a few weeks due to health issues and wedding stuffs but the cards are beautiful, but not the black and white I was looking foward to seeing.  For  those of you playing in the challenge I would love to see your black and white cards with one contrasting color, I just prefer red LOL.

Copic Creations Challenge #4 Blonde Hair

The bi-weekly Copic Creations Challenge #4 is to color blonde hair. I usually struggle with blonde keeping it as light as I would like so I thought this was a perfect challenge for me.

Here is what I came up with. I used the Flower Girl beauty from Dog Gone Stamps and colored the dress mint green with teal shading, gave her fair colored skin to go with the blonde hair. I only used 3 shades of yellow for my hair and then I added some white highlights.

I mounted the main image on soft sky SU cardstock and then mounted that on a dp from SU.

New Copic Challenge Site Yippee!!

I was surfing the blogs the other night and saw a new site for copic marker challenges called Copic Creations. It was mentioned on Marianne Walker's blog so it must be a good one. I have just submitted my first challenge card for their first challenge. The challenges will be twice monthly on the first and fifteenth. I should be able to manage that. The challenge this time was to use a skin coloring technique. I used my flower girl image and completed a card.

I had colored this image, Flower Girl from Dog Gone Stamps, last week. I used the following copic markers for the skin color. E000, E31 and E33. These are basically the only three colors I use for the main skin color on a female image. I usually use R11 for the blush on a human image.

I completed this image by sponging around the edge of the image with Tim Holtz broken china and vintage photo distress inks. I mounted the main image on brown cardstock, the brown on a turquoise polka dot that I sponged vintage photo on the edge. That was mounted on a final piece of brown. The striped designer paper was some that I picked up at Hobby Lobby about a year ago and seems to be my go to dp when using turquoise. I added a piece of brown borner punched along the left side. Inside that I added a strip of K & Company paper flower border. I added turquoise gems inside each flower. I tied two pieces of narrow satin ribbon between the gems and main image as a boundary (and to cover my seam).

I got a lot of projects done this week-end. Some I can show you and some I have to wait as they are DT work, I know I am soo mean, I think it will be worth the wait.

Love my new DogGoneStamps!

I get to be a Design Team Member for Dog Gone Stamps for another term, I am very excited. I love the stamps that Nancy and Brian are creating and because I love to color they are even more perfect for me. Here are two new images that I got today. I need to do a little out of line repair work but couldn't wait to show you my first new images I colored tonight.

Isn't this image called Flower Girl absolutely beautiful. I haven't decided what kind of project to create with this image but I couldn't wait to show it to you. I imagine that I will use this image to make a Birthday card for my sister who loves Angels.

Brian draws the most realistic looking dogs as well as wonderful more animated ones. Doesn't Daisy just make you go Awwwh. I wanted this image to create cards for the 4th of July. I drew in the stripes and added the stars to the hat.

I am not happy with my coloring of the pup's body but I love her little face and feet an because it is most certainly a beagle the white tip on her tail.

Be sure to check out the new stamps at Dog Gone Stamps because there are lots of new stamps. It is easy to spot the categories that have new stamps because they are in Red type. Go take a look you won't be disappointed.
