Thanks to all who came to Name frame Workshop

Hi Kansas City Ladies-- I had so much fun at our Ladies Night out last Friday night. Thanks Michelle for having us. It was a long time coming but we all survived summer and are now planning our monthly stamp therapy group.

I had so much fun helping you make your name frames and pondering over the colors but they all turned out soo nice that I was inspired to make another. Here is one that I made for my former manager, now my friend, at work.

Fretz is for Cathy Fretz and Cathy used to be an interior decorator so I am always a little unsure when I make her something personal if it is the right colors etc. She told me that she had mauve pink , beige and green in her house so this is what I came up with. I colored the half pearls along the paper lace strip with my copic markers. I scalloped the edge of the left striped paper with my corner rounder punch and then punched inside each scallop with a small hole punch.

I used my Spellbinders Nestible small scalloped square die for the white letter background. A one inch square punch was used for the coordinating paper inside the scallop square and I used my Olivia alphabet set for my Cuttlebug for the letters. I colored the letters to match the pearls and background paper.

I stamped the butterflies from the Stampin Up Level 3 Hostess set Always, cut them out and covered them with stickles to make them sparkle.

I couldn't wait to give it to her and she loved it. Whew!

Hope you are all enjoying your name frames too. If you forget something that we did don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.

Don't forget on October 10th we are doing a Christmas card as requested by Tina and I am planning a Halloween treat of some kind, still working on that one :)

Halloween is closer than we think EEEK!

I just realized as I was making this card with my new GinaK Spooky Silhouette stamp set that Halloween is coming faster than we think and I promised myself that I would make the grandkids Halloween cards this year. I had better get busy.

This is a case of a card that I saw on the GinaK stamp forum for a class that Jessica was doing on Friday. I really didn't come close to her image as Jim was on the computer when I started making this and I was working from memory. Obviously the memory isn't very good as Jessica's was lighter but I still like the way mine turned out anyway.

I used a piece of Stampin Up pumpkin pie cardstock and swiped an orange ink spot all over it moving left to right. I swiped a little more in some places and left other places lighter. I used another mustard yellow ink spot along the edges and under the stamped images.

I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink dewdrop, ( that I ordered when I ordered this Spooky Silhouette stamp set. ) to stamp the tree, the bats and the witch. The moon was stamped in the mustard ink spot that was used on the edges. In the lower right hand corner I stamped the Happy Halloween greeting. I love the sentiment font and size as it relays the sentiment but doesn't over power the picture.

I used my copic blender pen to remove some of the color around the moon and add a couple of whiffs of clouds over the moon as well. The steam from the cauldren was also done with the blender pen.

I finished it with a piece of brown textured cardstock which I cut a little longer than the orange card to add a Orange ribbon with black stitching for a little accent at the bottom.

Happy Halloween

My new passion- Copic Markers

I love my Copic Markers and I love the new GinaK stamps that I got last week. I will eventually make these images into cards, or journals or something really cute. Here is a page that I worked on the other night.

I am going to Kansas City tomorrow for our Ladies Night Out at Michelle's house and can't wait for all of you to make your name frames, you are going to love them. Here is a picture of the sample frame I made.

I need to get ready for bed so that I can be ready for a fun Girl's Night Out tomorrow night. See you then.
