Guest Designer for Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge site!

Guess who the Guest Designer is this week for the Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage Challenge Site? Oh, you are too smart. Yep it is Moi!!! I couldn't believe it when Cora asked me after only playing in the challenge a couple of times.

Cora sent me these two beautiful images to use for the challenge. Aren't they wonderful?

I really like the colors and layout on the inchie card. I have never made an inchie card before because I love to color and it is hard to color something that small :) I did color with copic markers and sponged with Tim Holtz distress ink. I added some paper flowers and the outside border of the Quickutz Nesting label. I think they are nice to highlight a certain section of the images.

The second image could be used for a Birthday card or a Thinking of You card. I visualized it as a journal cover of Beauty hints and homeopathic remedies. Maybe a stretch but that is what I thought of.
I thought the dp that I found at Michaels looked like vintage powder room wallpaper so I thought it fit this image nicely.

Digital Two for Tuesdays Challenge

Okay, I missed doing the Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge last week. It was the first time I had missed since I was introduced to the site and felt like I had missed part of my week, so even though it is Thursday I took time to play.


Nancy is the Guest Designer this week. I don't know of her except through my friends who take part in the Gothic Arches weekly challenges (She is the originator of the Challenge if my information is correct).


Here is my Happy Halloween card:

The image that was offered for us to use by Cora was everything but the moon and haunted house. Those were stamps that I had that worked well because they are silhouette stamps.

I swiped a pumpkin pie stamp pad over the entire image, except the moon that I had masked, and then swiped an always artichoke ink pad over the orange on the bottom to simulate landscape. I know it is a stretch, work with me here :).

The spider web was outlined with a Sukara stardust pen which doesn't show up too well in the photo. The finishing touches were put on with my copic airbrush system. Two spots that I colored black with my copic markers and here is my card.

Second card for Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge

I have had this image, which I love, colored since Tuesday night but have had no time to make a card until tonight so here it is:

I guess I am in kind of an elegant vintage mood. This image was so much fun to color, thanks Cora. I kept the layout fairly simple except for the embellishments.

I added 3 scrabble blocks and a build a brad for the "E" of home on the brown check ribbon. A little lace doily in the upper right hand corner and some string faux pearls y card is complete.

Later today I will have the Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge for which I used a KLM Digital Designs image, be sure to stop back.

It has been a long week and I need some hide in my craft room and ignore the world time and I am just going to take it this week-end.

Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge using Bluebird stamps from Artistic Outpost

Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage challenge gives us 2 images to use and this week we were give the large next in the middle of the card. I thought it would be perfect to combine with the Bluebird stamp plate from Artistic Outpost.

The background paper was created by stamping the script stamp overstamped in Momento London Fog ink which was then overstamped with the birds on the wire stamp randomly stamped all over the background paper.

The left Spellbinder Label 3 label was stamped with the birds on sheet music stamp and the label on the right was stamped with the Bluebird carries the Sky on his back stamp. All were sponged with Tim Holtz vintage photo and broken china distress ink.

The main image is the digital nest that was offered for the Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage challenge this week. I stamped two of the birds from the birds on the wire stamp on the edge of the nest. The single birds are the small birds in flight from the same stamp. The silhouette birds on the wire were stammped as if the birds in flight were going to land on the wire as well.

This was so much fun. I added the Thinking of You sentiment from the Artistic Outpost Bluebird stamp set and all that was left to add were 3 prima flowers oversponged with broken china to coordinate and a dew drop flower center.

It's always fun to mix and match stamp sets for a really cool collage.

Looking for Teen images?

I have teen age granddaughters that I struggle to find cards that they would like to receive. Mo's Digital Pencil has a grouping of 3 images called Dani and friends that are perfect for them. Here is the first one that I have colored:

Isn't she just sassy!!! I went with pink and orange for this image and I love this dp, which I bought because I loved it but have never used it until tonight.

Sponged around the copic colored image with worn lipstick Tim Holtz distress ink. A piece of white grosgrain ribbon and my card is done.

I won't put a sentiment on this yet, but will wait until I am ready to send it to one of the girls.

I just saw that Mo posted a new goth teen on her site tonight so go check out her stuff, she has something for everybody.

Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge card

Yeah, Yeah I know it is Wednesday but I did download the image on Tuesday, does that count? The images this week are children from a vintage book that Cora shared with us for the weekly challenge. I chose the little bonnet girl at the beach.

The guest designer this week is Alex and her cards are super cute.

I went for more of a modern color scheme on this card using bright colors and funky dp but I think it worked okay.

My beach baby was colored with copic markers. I added the texture of sand using my copic micro pen and my Sukara stardust glitter pen to add the sparkle usually found on beautiful sand beaches. The water has lapped into the foot prints and under her feet.

I sewed the image to the pink cs and added a green grosgrain ribbon with a pink knot bow to keep with my pink and green theme. I added 3 spots in the upper right corner of the image using my crop-a-dile. I also sewed the dp to the white card base using a zigzag stitch, just a hint if you haven't sewed on cards before: Don't glue your papers together. I just put a short strip of tape in the center of the paper to hold them in place because you don't want the glue or tape to gum up your needle, you won't like the results :(

Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage Challenge

Yep, it's Tuesday, that means Digital Two for Tuesday has a new guest designer and two new images. This weeks Guest Designer is Helen.

I names this bird "Dapper Dan", don't know why but the whole time I was coloring him that is what I called him, don't you agree?

The image was colored with copic markers, I added some white highlights with a gel pen and some clear sparkles with a Sukura stardust pen.

Don't you love the little awning. This is a stamp that I found at a Trash to Treasures store in Kansas when I was visiting my daughter a few weeks ago. You just stamp the awning out and cut it along the solid lines and it folds to make a 3D awning.

Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage Challenge

Here is the card that I made for the Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage Challenge . I thought this golfing couple image was wondeful, don't you?

Colored with copic markers and mounted on SU Sahara Sand and black mats, The striped dp in the middle is mounted on brown and then on a sahara sand punched along the edge with the MS fancy scallopped border punch.

A baja blue ribbon I dyed with SU reinkers and a narrow brown satin ribbon add interest to the main iimage. A trio of buttons in the upper right corner and vintage prima flower with tiny button center and my golf couple is ready for the challenge.

You should play along. The images are furnished, you just have to copy them to your computer and print them off.

Vintage Bathing Beauty!

The other day when I was having a color whatever you want day :) I colored this bathing beauty when I was coloring the little fishing boy. Both images were digital images from Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge site. I am in love with these images, the detail and vintage look really appeal to me and they are so wonderful to color. Here is my Bathing Beauty:

I knew that I was going to make a card with her today but I didn't know it would be this card :)

Hobby Lobby just got in the Spellbinder4 labels and I wanted them! I stopped by the store last week and took the display card to the check-out and it was a new product and they hadn't gotten their shipment in yet. Checked back yesterday and still no label4 :(. There is a new Hobby Lobby just west of me so I called them and they had one label4, they would hold it for me until I got there so I went shopping. You can't go into Hobby Lobby and just pick up the one item, can you? I can't!!! I found this quikkutz embossing folder that I thought would be so wonderful for simple sentiment cards. I had printed off a 25% off coupon for HL before I left home so, went for 1 must have item and came out with 4. Not bad for me, LOL.

When I got home I checked and the label 4 was too small to die cut this image so I held it up under the embossing folder and yep, that would be my card. I know that it is a little bit off center but... I printed multiple images on the page and that was all the clear space I had on the left side, gonna make it work!

Embossed the image and then sponged the raised scallops with Tim Holtz weathered wood and vintage photo distress inks. I mounted it on a black mat and then that was mounted on another tan and black mat. The card base dp is from a K&Company Ancentry.com vintage paper stack, which was then mounted on black as well.

I added the scroll photo corners, a half pearl in each corner, a piece of sheer white ribbon and a touch I should do more was to add a hat pin, that I had colored the head with SU reinkers and crystal effects, with a few small irridescent beads and my Bathing Beauty is ready to show. I am thinking about framing this or making a birthday card for my MIL who will be 87 in another week.

Play day for me!

Every once in a while I decide to just do a challenge or play (coloring usually) without any deadlines or restrictions. Today is that day for me. My friend Betty Benton from StampTV sent her friends a new challenge link that she had found. I loved the images. Thanks so much Betty!

The site is: Digital Two for Tuesday and the little fisherboy is for last week. Here is the card that I made:

I had a lot of fun with this challenge. These are digital images so you can resize them to suit your purpose. I made this 3X5 to be the main focal point of the card and because they are easier to color :) Colored with copic markers, sponged with Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink. Mounted on blue,black, and olive green for the main image. The main card base dp is from my scrap box. Tied two pieces of green/white checked ribbon a blue button in the upper left corner and my card is fun.
