Happy Halloween--Not so Scarey Style

I thought I would share a cute image from Just Inklined with you to celebrate Halloween today!!!

I used some fun Halloween saying dp as a backdrop for this cute  Scarecrow Not from Just Inklined.  I love the MS goo border punch which I embellished with orange stickles to accentuate the goo.

A narrow band or black ribbon on the goo band in the middle adds a little more seasonal fun without detracting from the image and the busyness of the dp. I added a glittery corner cobweb from Michaels in orange and a large orange button tied into the black ribbon on the center goo band.

Hoping you all have a wonderful Halloween and have a safe a fun time with the kids.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Playing with Word Collage Cricut Cartridge--Fun Fun

I am trying to get a head start on some Christmas gifts and also play with my crafting toys.  Playing with my toys being as important as the gifts...LOL.  I love the look of the new Word Collage Plaques you see all over and the Vinyl wall decor which was one of the reasons I bought my Cricut Expression in the first place.  Here is what I made yesterday:

The cartridge shows this as a 5.5 inch phrase but I made it 9 inches long.  It is made from the adhesive backed vinyl.  I didn't want to mount it onto a plain colored background or placque so went to my LSS and they had this wonderful piece of CS I thought would be awesome for my plaque.  I had mounted the ds onto a piece of 4X9 cardboard which I save  for this very purpose.  I then transferred the vinyl phrase to the  cs using the transfer paper and carefully peeled it off and walla my awesome Vino project for my SIL who has a wine themed kitchen.
I had some corkboard I am mounting this piece onto, but I just got it cut tonight.  I will then mount that onto a piece of balsa wood for stability and figure out the hanging technique,  When I get it all done I will show you the completed project.  Should only take another day or two :)

Let me know what you think.  Have a great day!!!

Hugs,
Cathy

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Favorite Holiday!!!

Yippee, time for another Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and a fun one again.  I get to choose another fun character for my Favorite Holiday which is the next one coming up, Halloween.  I chose, Come Hither, just because I thought he would be so fun to create a double spread scrapbook page, not usually my thing but thought it would be fun to do something a little different....hey it happens LOL.

If you hadn't guessed this is pretty big, actually 8.5 X 11  since I was planning to add it to a 12X12 page for a double spread with kids Halloween pix on the other side...sounds like I really do this huh.  I don't make too many scrapbook pages but I have made a few LOL. I leave that to my girls, they are awesome.

Come Hither was colored with copic markers and the lining of his cape was highlighted with red Atyou spica glitter pen.  I added spiders, bats and the haunted mansion in the lower right corner with its resident ghost.

The huge gold key is a new dollar bin find from Michaels last week and it is metal.  The black swirley frame is a new cricut frames cartridge I just love since none of my cuttlebug dies are big enough to back my images. You just measure the height of the pix and wallah, easy peasy.  The red roses in the upper right are being invaded by spiders as well, so this Halloween card is complete.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by and check out the rest of the DT favorite holidays.  Play along in the challenge too for a chance to win a Mo's image...Mo has been busy creating Christmas images and couples and kids oh my......

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Inspiration picture Challenge--Sassy Cheryl's

Dawn is the talented hostess this week for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week and has chosen a wonderfully intriguing picture for our inspiration.
I had chosen the Sally and Her Thanksgiving Turkey as the image I was going to color this week, I had chosen the brown striped dp and a beige swirled dp thinking that normally you would use the inspiration piece and you would be able to use the patterns and change out the colors to suit your image...that 's what I get for thinking.  We were supposed to use pink all this month to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The best I can do for this challenge is to tell you that Sally has a pink training bra on...Here is my card for the Challenge:

Ya think the turkey is telling Sally they should Eat Beef for Thanksgiving because he is too skinny!?!

Don't you just love all the new Sassy Cheryl's images, the Sassy Sally's and Lucy Lou's and now the Pretty Polly's,  wow and now there is even a new Samantha Snow girl I just had to get last night.  Be sure to check all of them in the Store.

Be sure to stop by the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog and check out what the rest of the DT, who followed the challenge rules, have to show you and be sure to play along.  You don't have to use a Sassy Cheryl's image to play but if you do you get two chances to win a 5 dollar gift certificate.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Coffee Time with Just Inklined--Thanks a Latte!!

If you know me you KNOW I love coffee. I drink it 24 -7 and so was excited when I saw these wonderful coffee and tea service images released by Just Inklined and they come with wonderful sentiments too, added bonus. Here is what I created today:

I wanted the coffee pot to look like a ceramic every day type of coffee pot so gave it a teal and tan, or coffee stained maybe LOL, base, which was colored with copic markers.  Because the base cs is a busier floral striped print I left the cs panel of the coffee pot  plain. A doilie with a cricut double layered die cut flower was added to the base.

The sentiment was printed and then cut with an oval punch and then a straight edge was cut along the top to which a black and white polka dot bow and gold button were added.  The perfect embellishments for a Thank you a Latte card ready to send to that special friend who appreciates coffee as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the LaPashe store and check out the formal Coffee service and formal sentiments and the other new Halloween and other wonderful images that the artists at Just Inklined have been rolling out the past few weeks.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

How can you pick a Favorite? Really!!!!! Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

You know it is the truth!!! The Challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge this week is to use your favorite Mo's Digital Pencil image and add a sentiment.  Elaine has really chosen some awesome challenges hasn't she.  Here is my all time favorite image, Late, using one of my favorite styles, Vintage, kinda!!!:

For someone who seldom uses a digital image more than one time I think I have used Late at least 5 or 6 and I love coloring him every single time I do.  I wanted to make him especially handsome for this special challenge so decided to give him a more vintage staging.
The block was masked with a Tim Holtz mask and sponged with distress ink and layered with doilies and strands of pearls, roses and lace.  I added a key and lock along with a beautiful gold toned ribbon tied in the double loop, I have to keep doing it so I don't forget how, right!!!  I used replica typewriter keys to spell out my Late sentiment which is what my card was as most of my Birthday cards usually are.  I have the best of intentions but I almost always have them made on time just don't get them mailed...yeah I know...

I can't wait to stop by the rest of the DT blogs to see what their favorite images are, wonder if they will be old or new, how do you really choose because every new one is a new favorite...you know I am right!!!  Be sure to grab your favorite image, add a sentiment and play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

It's Tuesday--Time for a Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

One of my favorite types of Challenges are Sketch Challenges, and our super talented hostess, Dawn, has chosen a Sketch for our Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week.  Here is the Sketch:

Here is what I created with the super adorable Autumn Bench Sitter Sally:

I absolutely love the new Sally and Lucy Lou images and had to color this darling image for this challenge.  The colors are to be pink so I added green and fall colors after all there are leaves and her name is Autumn bench sitter!!!  I didn't make that up.

The sketch was fun and the I tried to keep the colors soft, which I kind of struggle with.  I used the fun brown plaid dp from the Me and My Big Ideas paper fall pack and then added a french country pink and green to coordinate with the colors of the image. A trio of brads were added to each triangle along with a double bow ribbon I actually tied without having to go back to the tutorial LOL...it may stick now :)  and to keep with the fall theme I added some leaves punched from kraft cs and sponged with greens and pinks to coordinate.

Funny story about my card and Pat's card. We really had no idea we were going to pick the same image or color the same colors so closely so I emailed her when I uploaded my card to the DT folder saw her card,  and apologized for using the same image and colors as she had...I swore she sent me subliminal messages in my sleep.  She was a sweet heart that she is and said that great minds just think alike... It is funny how the DT so often picks the same images each week but not often they color the same colors LOL.

Be sure to stop by the Challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT cards and then check out the newest images Sassy Cheryl has created in the Store...I'm tellin you she has really been creating up a storm with the Sally and Lucy Lou sweetie pies lately.   Love em and I know you will too.

Don't forget to play along in the Sassy Cheryl's challenge . Remember you no longer have to use a Sassy Cheryl's image to play along but you do have to follow the challenge rules and if you do use a Sassy Cheryls image you get entered two times in the drawing for a 5 dollar gift certificate.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day!!

Inspired by Song--Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

Elaine always comes up with the coolest challenge themes for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, and as soon as I saw these two little gals I knew I had to merge them and then figure out a song to go with them...Hey it works!!!  I also color my image and then pick the dp...backwards works for me LOL.  My Inspirational Song is:  "His Eye is on the Sparrow"...:

Don't you think the line "And I know he watches me",  goes with the girls? The images I merged were Ragged Angel and Urchin with Bird and I absolutely loved to color them, but they do take some time to color.  I do get a bit over the top with detail...it is who I am LOL.

I had this wonderful dp with the sparrow that I thought was perfect for my Theme and cut it in half  and wrapped a few wraps of bakers twine around it and tied a bow. I used the other half turned sideways for the top right corner accent dp piece.  The music dp is a Christmas piece finished in glossy embossing print and added a stacked Poinsetta flower in the corner and my Inspired by Song card is complete.  I am going to have this sitting on my crafting table for the Holiday Season...

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for this super fun challenge and be sure to grab an image or two from the store and play along with the challenge next week we love to see what you create :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day!!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Think Pink and Add a Die Cut

I am the hostess this week for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge, and the theme this week is, to Think Pink and use a Die Cut. I had a ball creating my card with this darling Autumn Bear:

I am not really a pink kinda gal, so I had to add some orange with it LOL.  The Autumn Bear was colored with copic markers and for once I didn't sponge or airbrush around her because I knew I was going to add a lot of detail in the dp and embellishments and didn't want to lose the image in it all :)

The Die cuts are the corners which were cut with my cricut expression and the roses which were also cut with the expession.  The flowers used as the rose bases were MS punches and I thought they added a nice base to the petal and also added another die cut... there is method in my madness.....

The ribbon is a double sided ribon in orange and pink and I used a tutorial( The tutorial is a video tutorial on the right sidebar of her blog.) by my friend and Boss at Just Inklined, Jak Heath,  for a double loop ribbon tied on your fingers....easy enough I could do it LOL. You laugh...for 4 years I tied knots for bows on my cards...go back and look.... I kid you knot ...did you get it...okay back to the card.

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for your viewing pleasure.  I am sure it will be outstanding and to Die for...Pun intended,...Okay, I am done...

Sassy Cheryl has really been creating the cutest images the past couple of weeks so be sure to stop by the store and grab a couple or three or four and play along with us in the challenge.

Have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil--Patchwork

Elaine is our hostess this week on Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and she chose the theme Patchwork.  Mo just created this little darling I just had to use, called Ragged Angel.:

She reminds me of one of my favorite Christmas stories, Little Match Girl and I colored her in the colors in keeping with the pink theme but in the Vintage era of the character.
I mounted her on a scallop circle cut with spellbinder die mounted on a DWVC French Country dp onto which I added a scalloped border on the left side cut from Tim Holtz dp .
I added some of my hand made roses and a few buttons. Are you sick of seeing my flowers yet?  LOL  I love the way they look so get used to seeing them for awhile I have made a few :)  A large green button in the lower right corner and a staggered fancy corner bracket in the upper right corner were all the embellishments I added to this little beauty. Who wants to detract from the image...

Let me tell ya, Mo has been creating the most beautiful images lately be sure to drop by the store and be ready to spend a little time, the images are gorgeous....

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has to inspire you for the challenge and play along with us, this is a really fun challenge.  Can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Time for Halloween Images--Just Inklined

I was so pleased when Just Inklined came up with some new Halloween images this week and couldn't wait to color some up. The first one I colored was this cute witch called Endora:

I colored her with copic markers and then traced a moon around her so she could be flying up in the Halloween night sky.  The sky was airbrushed.

I found this wonderful dp pack on sale at Michael's last week and just in time for all my Halloween creations this year. The web photo corner piece is perfect for my card along with the punched bats.  I added a Caution tag which is a pack from Recollections especially for Halloween.
Be sure to check out all of the other new images Just Inklined has for Halloween just posted for you yesterday.  They are awesome.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the Just Inklined Blog for more DT inspiration daily.

Just Inklined Blog Hop--Fall Colors

Welcome to the October Just Inklined Blog Hop.  I'm Cathy and I am the Hostess this month and I choose the theme Fall Colors.  I love the colors of Fall and not only is this card made with my favorite colors but also to celebrate a Special Day. Today is my 41st. Wedding Anniversary.  And yes, I was a child-bride, LOL:

Because the card is for my husband it is perfect for the fall colors of oranges, brown and greens.  The Corner  A-4 Poppy is perfect  as the sentiment and image are ready to print.  The image was colored with copic markers and the border was over stamped with a cracked paint stamp and airbrushed to highlight the image.  The flowers in the upper left were hand made and airbrushed to match the poppy and mounted on a MS doile.

The next stop along your hop is the super talented, Heidy, and I know she will have a wonderful project to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment at each DT members blogs along the way as there will be random winners drawn from the comments of several of the DT blogs.  The winners will receive the digi files used to create the card.  How cool is that.

Have a wonderful creative day!!!
