Bloom and Grow--Flower Girl

I think theis little girl with the wheelbarrow full of flowers, from the newest Artistic Outpost Bloom & Grow stamp plate,  is just precious.  I colored her with copic markers. Isn't she just the cutest?:
My thought was to color her in vintage colors neutral colors for the hat and pinafore but then I picked this really fun dp and it became what I like to call Modern Vintage.  Now that is a contradiction of visions but I think it works.
The dp is busy enough I didn't want to add too much other stuffs, so I added a metal butterfly, punched the peachy cardstock with my MS border punch.
A small half pearl in the upper left hand corner and the wonderful sentiment from the stamp plate which says, :"How does your garden grow?"
Hope you are enjoying the new stamp plates from Artistic Outpost, I certainly am.

Hope your Memorial Holiday week-end is all you want it to be.

See you this week with a Riley and Company Challenge on Tuesday.  I am the hostess this week.  The Sassy Cheryl's weekly challenge also on Tuesday.  The Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge on Thursday.  Be sure to stop by  because I have been busy coloring and have lots to show you this week!!!

Summer Fairy Finna--Mo's Digital Pencil

Happy Saturday!!! I have had a wonderful relaxing day of running errands, cleaning house and just doing what I wanted to!!!  One of the things I "wanted" to do today was color.  I colored this beautiful image Mo had made available as a freebie for a few hours last week, lucky me I was still up when she posted it because I was still asleep when she ended it as a freebie :)  Here she is:

I colored her suit with lavendar's and teal colors as I really like the irridescent effect mixing these colors gives.  I wanted to keep the colors soft and I think I accomplished my goal.
The image was colored with  copic markers and the edges were sponged with Distress Ink..no surprises there :)
The dp is from my new Pocket Full of Posies paper pack which has wonderful spring and summer prints.
The rhinestones kind of look like water drops...okay use your imagination or just take my word for it LOL.

Two narrow metalic bands of ribbon and this beautiful fairy is ready to go to my office on Sunday.  She looks just like Desiree who sits beside me at work.  I envision this is what Des looked like as a chld and she still has the same hair...Love it.
Well, I am going to bed now, just wanted to share this little beauty with you.
If you haven't check out Mo's Digital Pencil lately you should she has created the cutes little group of school boys and girls with glasses, this beautiful fairy and a darling toddler girl Lacie with an ice cream cone.  I have that one colored too but still have to make the card...I'll post it in a day or two.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Remember a Veteran, or loved one who has passed, this week-end...It's not just a day to get off work!!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Can You Hear me NOW!!!

Denise is our hostess one last week for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  Hasn't she had some wonderful Challenges.  I have really enjoyed them.  This week our challenge is Babies.  Well in my eyes under two is a baby so I used a Terrible two for my fun card:

Sometimes I feel like this but can't get away with it anymore LOL

I had so much fun coloring this little darling having a little tantrum!! I thought the sentiment was perfect so I created it on my computer.  If you can't read it is says, "Can You Hear Me Now!!!"  The image is Mo's Digital Pencil  called Two Toby ws perfect.

I thought the image would look cute in bright colors so being the original person I am I went with blue overalls and a red shirt.  Wow, such originality LOL.
I colored with copics of course, and sponged with faded jeans distress ink.  The blue polka dot dp is Bo Bunny, the brown is Kraft and the red is Cardinal
The lattice border punch by MS was used for the top of the matt layer behind the main image.
The Sentiiment was computer generated and punched with the SU scalloped circle punch.  I punched a second from the cardinal to position behind the white and added a tiny red button.
The red and white checked ribbon was tied behind and 3 spots were added diagonally in the upper left hand corner.  A red and white checked
Hope you all play in the challenge.  Have you been to Mo's Digital Pencil store lately, she has gone nuts with some of the most wonderful new images I can hardly keep up.  I will have coloring to do till the 4th of July LOL.  That's not a bad thing, you know how much I love to color.

Thanks for stopping by,  Check out the rest of the DT creations, you're gonna love them.

Artistic Outpost May Release of 3 Fabulous Stamp Plates!!! Wait till you see!

Artistic Outpost is excited to release our newest rubber stamp collections: Beyond the Sea, Bloom and Grow, and Country Life. To us these stamps represent the good life: love, growth, and friendship. (and a pig thrown in just for jazz).

Beyond the Sea was inspired by the Bobby Darin song, "Beyond the Sea". It features interchangeable main images including the perfect lighthouse, alluring couple, and longing clam digger. Perfect for cards, shadow boxes, and scrapbooking your seashore visits.

I personally love lighthouses and so when I first saw this set I knew I would use this image first :)

I always love to color them with a light beam as that is what I remember from the Lighthouses of the East Coast.

Bloom and Grow and Country Life represent are two halves of one whole. Bloom and Grow features more feminine elements including a perfect seed frame that you can use with so many of our stamps. Country Life includes a little more fun boy imagery including the cutest little pig, chickens, and little boy. Mix and match both of these collections together or with our other collections such as Lovely Day and Home.

I also love to color flowers so this set was a favorite as well.  Here is a card I created with the flower form Bllom and Grow:
I thought it would be so pretty in pinks and pearls, what do you think?

Country Life reminds me of the years we enjoyed the County Fairs with our children.  They showed horses but we always went to look at the exhibits and animal judging.  The pigs reminded me of the litter judging:

Isn't this fun!!!???

How about a cover for a Recipe Book? Or a Chicken Recipe Card!

I have lots more projects to show you, but I will spread them out over the next few weeks. These sets just had so many possibilities I couldn't stop creating!!!
Looking for more inspiration using these new releases? Be sure to visit the other Designers to see what they've created

Lisa* Gerrie * Cathy * Judy * Lynn * Shelly * Toni

Enjoy all three collections together for a special price. From now until June 4th, purchase all three sets together for $36, that's a savings of 15%. Simply use coupon code: SUMMER2010 at check-out

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Use Punches!!!

This week our hostess, for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge is Kim. Kim chose the challenge to use punches on your card!!  That is an easy one for me...the hard decisions are which ones?!?  Here is what I came up with....

I have just been in the mood for Sassy Cheryl's wonderful snowmen lately so I colored a couple and used this darling Jump Snowman for the punch challenge today.  The main image is punched with a Spellbinder label 4 nestie.  The corners of the blue and white layers  were punched with the corner rounder punch.  The Blue Bayou layer was run through the cuttlebug dotted swiss embossing folder to look a little like snow flakes...okay, use your imagination...work with me here!!! LOL
The edge was sprayed with my copic airbrush system to highlight the border which I like to leave white.
The flowers were punched with an EK big flower punch and a QuickKutz flower die cut set.  A rhinestone was placed in the middle of the nested flowers and 3 additional rhinestones were placed in the upper right hand corner of the card.
A MS border punch was used for the band behind the snowman image going vertically.
The edges of all of the punched flowers and band were sponged with broken china distress ink.
The dp is from the My Mind's Eye Delightful paper pack

Be sure you stop and see the rest of the dt projects, I know they will be awesome as always.
As of my posting I do now know who the Guest Designer will be for the week of June 1 but it will be posted on the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog.  The projects were all so wonderful  and it is not going to be an easy task to choose one Guest DT member.  Do not be discouraged if you are not chosen this time I know that there will be other opportunities when you least expect it to be the next Guest Designer.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the new images from Sassy Cheryl, I haven't even peeked at them yet this week, I may go do that right now!!!

Have a great day.  You think it is hot where you are,  color a snowman, it will cool you off!!!

Iiiiittttt's Thursday...Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Day!!!

The Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge this week is hosted by Denise and the theme is Love!!!  Denise has had some really awesome themes.  For my card I chose the new image called Buds:

I loved this image from the moment I saw it and could't wait to color it.  I wanted that big beautiful dog to look like a golden lab, not sure I get him yellow enough but I really like the way it turned out.  The boy was dressed in blue and green.  The background panel the main image is mounted on was turned into a grid pattern using my  newly acquired MS score pad which I got last week-end with a 40% off coupon.
The flower background dp is from the My Mind's Eye Delightful paper pack.
The red punched border is a MS punch.  The  ribbon was from Michael's from their Christmas clearance and I criss crossed it for a little added interest and the trio of buttons was the final touch.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations, they are always awesome.
Be sure to play along for a chance to win an image of your choice.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Riley and Company Sneak Peek #4 Courage....Anyone?

I think my very favorite character from the Wizard of Oz has always been the Cowardly Lion.  Maybe I identified with him or maybe I felt sorry for him, not sure, but here is my Riley Lion card:

Doesn't he look fearful?  This image was so much fun to color, I think I have said that about all of them but it's true!!!
The sentiiment is also one of my favorites from the movie and I can still hear them saying it and slinking off to find the Wizard.
Be sure to check out the rest of the Sneak Peeks today and tonight will be the fantabulous Follow the Yellow Brick Road Blog Hop beginning at 9 central time.
Be sure to leave a comment on each of the Design Team's blogs for a chance to win an awesome prize.  Be sure when you leave a commnet that you check back on each blog on Friday night or Saturday morning to see if you were one of the lucky winners.  If you are a winner be sure you let the DT member know your email address so they can contact you to get an address to send the prize  :)

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge, It's Tuesday!!! and Guest Designer Search!

This week our hostess for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge is the Oh, So talented Sassy Gal, Kim.  Kim has chosen a really fun simple challenge to use Buttons on your project...I love to use buttons and here is what I created:

The image is Sassy Uncle Sam  and isn't she adorable.  I colored her in more vintage americana colors, which are my favorite shades.
The dp is from my K & Compapny Que Sera Sera paper pack.  The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with vintage photo distress ink.  The center red band was punched with a MS border punch and an americana ribbon was added to the middle.  The ribbon was bright white so I sponged it with the distress ink as well.
Now for the buttons...Have I mentioned I love to add buttons?  I used a heart, star and circle button on the lower left corner and a red rooster button in the upper right corner.
Thanks for the wonderful challenge Kim.

Riley and Company Sneak Peek #1 and my first Easel Card!!!

Finally, the Sneak Peeks are here for the Release we have all been waiting for, the "There's No place like Home", Riley and Company Release of the Riley in Oz stamps. Here is my first sneak peek:

Isn't this stamp just adorable!!!  Dorothy and Toto is just one of the stamps being offered in this huge release.  There is, Dorothy, the Lion, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch, the Good Witch, a Flying Monkey and the Yellow Brick Road.  There are also 3 very useful and funny word sets that are a must have.  The sentiment on this card is one of 17 saying on one of the sheets of words.
I have been wanting to make an easel card but just hadn't tried it, what was I waiting for, they are so much fun.  Dorothy was colored with copic markers and sponged with distress ink.  The ovals are Spellbinder dies.  I had these cute buttons I thought would work well for the easel stop.
The flower on the lower left corner is a crepe paper flower, I showcased last week, and the leaves are MS punch leaves.  The blue check dp is from my stash and I have had it forever but it was so perfect for Dorothy I had to use it.

One more Karen's Doodles Card

I have one more Karen's Doodles card to show you, I really like to color flowers and this was a really cute free image I picked up the other night when I was on her PCP group.

Wouldnt this be a cute image to make a card for a friend, or someone who needs cheering up or just to say...It's finally spring!!!
I had a lot of fun coloring this darling image with copic markers.  I did my favorite gradient technique on the butterfly and a modified tone on tone gradient on the tulips.
I am working fast and furious on DT cards this week and week-end so most of what I have been doing I can't show you yet.
If you are a fan of Riley and Company sneak peeks for the new release start Monday, a new challenge on Tuesday , a Blog Hop on Wednesaday and the Release on Thursday.
Tuesday is also Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Day and Thursday is Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Day so an exciting week with LOTS of new awesome stamps and images for you to want and need.

Thanks for stopping by I appreciate each and every one of you.

Take time to color, it's cheaper than therapy!!!

Mo's' Digital Pencil Challenge--Flowers

The wonderfully talented Denise is our hostess again this week and her theme for the month is Spring...this week Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge is Flowers...Here is what I came up with..

I used the free image, Mo so graciously bribed us with, to become a fan of her FaceBook Digital Pencil page.  I would be a fan even if she didn't give away an image but isn't Coffee and Laptop fun.  This image is available in the store now.
I made the robe fuzzy by adding fur like texture with a white gel pen, basically the same thing I do with bunnies and bears.  I thought purple and green looked like springy colors and used those colors.
The image is colored with copic markers and the edge is sponged with TH distress ink dusty concord.  The cs the main image is mounted is from the Hopscotch matte pack from K & Company.  I punched the corners with my MS flower punch.  Mounted on Purple cs and mounted that on a nice green plaid cs from my stash.
The flowers are from my Prima flower find at Tuesday Morning last week so I have now fulfilled the requirement of flowers on my challenge card.

Be sure you check out the rest of the DT challenge cards and play along.  The challenge winner is drawn randomly from all the entries.
There might be a new freebie as Mo's Digital Pencil on PCP just hit 1500 members.  Isn't that phenominal!!!!!
Mo's Digital Pencil has also come out with several new adorable images.  I know I am going shopping ( I get paid today) LOL
I have got to order some copic Various Ink refills as some of my most used are running low and since I have to order them online I need to get that done.
I apologize that I have not had as much time to create like I want to but work has changed a little bit and although I am adjusting to my new schedule I am not adjusting as well to my split creative time as I would like.  Believe me I will figure it out soon...or else!!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by...Take time to color...You'll feel better!!!

Karen's Doodles Challenge Card

My DT friend Sandy is a DT member for Karen's Doodles and I have long admired her work.  I was looking for a fun challenge this week-end and chose to play along with my friends , Sandy, Jana, Shana, and Tracy who are also on this super talented DT.  The challenge is a Birthday or Celebration card.   Here is what I came up with, isn't he a cutie!!:
Colored with copic markers and sponged with Broken China TH distress ink.  I added some stickles white to the confetti for dimension and a trio of prima flowers and my Celebration card is complete.
I have colored another of Karen's Doodles images that I will show you in a day or two, but this little Party Animal was my choice for this fun Celebration card!!!
Thanks girls for getting me hooked on yet another wonderful digi company!!! Love ya!!

Thanks for stopping by and you should play along.  Karen's Doodles gives away 3 prizes each week and the images are cute, cute, cute!!

A Sketch Challenge for Sassy Cheryl's weekly challenge!!!

This week , at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog,  Dawn has chosen a wonderful sketch challenge for us.  You're gonna love it.  Here is mine:

Sassy Cheryl has created some of the cutest boy images lately, including this one called See No Evil, and that is a really nice. It is usually hard to find really cute, fun boy card images!!! You rock Sassy Cheryl!!!
I colored the image with copic markers and even gave him grass stains on the knees of his jeans...couldn't resist LOL.  The dp is from the Cafe Mediterranean premium stack I got at JoAnns a couple of weeks ago.
The buttons were added with little yarn to dress them up a bit.
I used two of my new punches for a little interest to the main image matting.  The MS border punch at the bottom and the corner ladybug punch punched in a straight line.  You gotta do what you gotta do when your Michael's only carries the corner lady bug punch!!!
Be sure you check out the wonderful new images at Sassy Cheryl's this week, she has really outdone herself.  I think I say that every week, but it is true.  The DT also has some wonderful creations using the sketch also so be sure to stop by and see what they have created and leave a little love :)

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Great day!!!

Remember Crepe Paper Flowers? All New and Improved!!!

I was cruising around my old stomping grounds last week and visiting the blogs of my friends at Stamp TV.  You know I love to add flowers to my projects and I want them to be memorable, not plain jane, know what I mean!!!  Carolyn King is an awesomely talented lady I have known as Cammie for several years.  She provided a tutorial on her blog on making beautiful flowers using crepe paper, you know the stuff you use for streamers at birthday parties!!! Yep.  Her tutorial is here and here is a Sassy Cheryl's card I used some flowers I made with her tutorial:
I had seen the tutorial a couple of weeks ago and didn't have any crepe paper...I hate when that happens.  I went down to my daughter's that same week-end and she had several colors so I was in business.  I created the largest using a quickutz die and a smaller one using a punch.  The red ones are just crepe paper  the pink ones were sponged along the edges with fired brick distress ink..
The image from Sassy Cheryl's is called Bear pulling Toy Lambs and I had started coloring it several weeks ago but never finished it.  I decided it would be really cute with the red and pink flowers I had created so I colored the bear and her dress in coordinating colors.
All of the punch enablers on the Sassy Cheryl's PCP group are to blame for the cute leaves used.  I found this punch and also a border punch at Tuesday Morning.  Then I went to Michael's and bought a Ladybug corner punch with a 40% off coupon.  I'm a happy girl, new cute punches and new pretty flowers.
Thanks for stopping by,  I really enjoyed having time to create something just because I wanted to!!!

To all of you wonderful Mothers   Happy Mother's Day.  My daugher who lives in town spoiled me already with a new top, Starbuck's coffee beans, and lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and my son had sent a card and called me tonight.  I have to work tomorrow but it will stll be a good day.

If you use Cammie's tutorial be sure to give her credit and let her know you used it and a link to your creation.  That's what I am going to do right now :)

Thanks for stopping by and color if you get a chance you will feel great, I always do!!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge---Water or Rain?

Denise is the hostess for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge this week and she challenged us to make a card using water or rain.  Here is my card:
This was one of the very first images of Mo's Digital Pencil that I saw and loved, but I didn't buy it until last night.  I keep looking at it and buying a newer image but when I found out the challenge was rain or water, I knew this was the image I wanted to use.
I colored Ben with copic markers and cut him out with a quickutz label die.  I really like this die as it cuts a perfect narrow border that I like to cut from a coordinating dp and outline my image.
The dp is from some new cs I got at JoAnn's last week when  I went to KC.  They had their large paper packs half price.  I thought these two were perfect  The neutral center panel is the reverse side of hte blue/green vintage scroll design below.  Don't you love it with the image?!?
The edges of the two base panels were outlined with the CutterBee single row paper piercer.  3 coordinating prima flowers centered with buttons and this little watering boy is ready for the challenge.

Be sure you check out the rest of the Mo's Digital Pencil DT members projects, you're gonna love em.  Play along for a chance to win an image of your choice from Mo's Digital Pencil Store.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day and color if you can!!!

Riley and Company Challenge

Yes, all you Riley and Company fans it is time for a new Challenge.  The super talented Silke is the hostess for our challenge this week and it is to make a Circle Card... I might have gotten a little carried away....

I used my Fiskar's Circle cutter for the two smaller circles and used a bowl for the flowered circle.  The petals are SU scalloped circle punches cut in half.
Rainy Day Riley is colored with Copic markers and sponged with broken china distressed ink.  The side flowers are punched with die cuts and flower punches.
I think it looks a little like a flower and most flowers are circular...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
Be sure you check out the rest of the DT creations....they are always fabulous.
Don't forget that the long anticipated release of new Riley and Company stamps is in just 2 more weeks...Believe me it is one of the neatest sets I have had the pleasure of working with.
Thanks for stopping by and don't moose a chance to play along.  Use the keyword Riley0810 if you post to a gallery such as SplitCoast Stampers or Paper Craft Planet.  We would love to see what you have created.

Have a Moose wonderful Day

Cathy

It's Sassy Tuesday!!! Are you ready for an Inspiration Challenge?

Today our hostess for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge is Dawn Lusk, a very talented DT member I have followed for a long time.  Dawn chose an Inspiration Challenge and provided a very brightly colored picture with black and white cat bordered on the lower and side sections with lots of flowers.  Here is what I came up with:
This is just the cutest summer image called Watermelon Bee,  I don't know why I haven't colored it before.  I wanted to keep the colors summery.
On my trip to Kansas City last week I got a few minutes to go shopping at JoAnn's, their store is soooo much better than the ones in Omaha.  They were having a half price sale on their paper packs.....yes..I DO need more paper....have you been talking to my daughter?  LOL  The dp used here is from the DCWV Pockets full of Posies Paper Pack.  The matte behind the main image is also from a stack pack by DCWV called Cafe Mediterranean.
I added a white cs panel behind the image and matt to make it stand out a bit more.
The Watermelon Bee was colored with copic markers and sponged with TH broken china distress ink.
There is a variery of prima flowers and 3 MS punched butterflies.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has created.  I know you will find lots of inspiration.

Sassy Cheryl's has a whole bunch of new images released with the challenge too.  Be sure to check out the store.

Thanks for stopping by,

Have a great day.
