I was chosen for Sassy Cheryl's Design Team, Whoooo Hoooo!!!

I am so excited that I FINALLY get to tell everybody that I am a Design Team member for Sassy Cheryl's , where we will be affectionately referred to as the Sassy Gals, for Sassy Cheryl's Charter Design Team. I resemble that title LOL.

In honor of this new honor I have created the following card using Sassy Cheryl the Baker stamp:

Talk about a Sassy Cook, this little chef definitely has the attitude.

Sassy Cheryl's digital images are so fun and funky and perfect for all kinds of cards, scrapbooking projects, or 3-D projects.  You are going to love them as much as I do.

We are going to have a weekly Challenge which will begin on March 2, the Sassy Cheryl Challenge site can be found here

Be sure to  check out Sassy Cheryl's store and I know you will like what you see.  Sassy Cheryl's also has a group on Paper Craft Planet that we would love to have you join.

The Sassy Gals are:

Cathy Edgar--that's Moi

Later today I will post the DT on my side-bar with links to their blogs so you can go and see the awesome talent of these Sassy Gals!!

If you haven't tried digital images yet, you really should try them.  What I love about them is that they are readily available on my computer once I have purchased them, I can resize them, merge them with other images (from the same designer) Storage is not an issue, plus the instant gratification of ordering and having them in your inbox before you can blink.
All of you who know me know that I am a bit of a digital image snob and very particular about the images that I use.  They have to be details, fun, and most of all I HAVE to be able to color them.  Sassy Cheryl's meets all of these qualifications and they are so darn much fun, I mean her newest stamp is an Easter Bunny Snowman, now who can resist this fun image!!!

I will show you that one in a day or two.  Now go check out all the other Sassy Gal's and Sassy Cheryl's store if you haven't already been there.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge --It must be Thursday :)

Yep, Thursday is Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge day.  This is Dawn B's last challenge this month and it was an awesome sketch challenge.  I really like sketch challenges because I don't have to create my own layout, fewer brain cells strained, added bonus!!   Here is my card for this week's challenge:

I really love this darling far sighted porcupine called You'r Kinda Cute, I can relate to this guy, but not quite this badly LOL.  He was colored with copic markers and I know that most pin cushions are red like the tomato that they are supposed to resemble, however,  I wanted the color to blend more with the browns that I had picked out for my dp.  I guess I created my own hybrid tomato, I guess I am more talented than I realized ha ha.
The porcupine quills and the pins are all highlighted with clear stardust gel pen but the photo doesn't catch this at all.
The sketch called for two squares behind the main image panel.  I didn't just want plain edges so I used my Marvy corner punch and tucked them in leaving a border of brown around each corner punch.
I added the 3 little hearts which are left after punching with the MS heart border punch.  I save them just in case I may have a need for a little red heart.
Well, thanks for stopping by and be sure to check to see who the March Guest Designer will be.  This is the final week for the month long search for the March Guest Designer.  I think this is going to be an ongoing search with a new Guest Designer being chosen each month.  You have to participate in each challenge and follow the challenge rules to be eligible.  You should try it.

I forgot to mention that I am the Challenge Hostess next month so be sure to join us.

3 Times The Fun!!!

I was practicing merging images and created this super cute (IMO) card with 3 Sophie's from Mo's Digital Pencil.
The images were merged with PhotoShop Elements 7.  They were combined, resized and the overlapping designs were erased.  I really like the way that it turned out and it was so much fun to color.
I wanted a bright cheerful card so I colored the little Sophie's in springy colors.
The blue dp layer is a subdued paisley pattern and I like the way it coordinates with the bold flowers of the background dp.
The flowered dp is from, you guessed it, the My Mind's Eye Delightful paper pack.

I hope this little trio of angelic girls makes you smile because that is the effect they always have on me!!!

Country Singer Riley Challenge Card

Hi everybody, it is time for another Riley and Company Challenge.  This week the challenge hostess is Cindy Haffner. The challenge is to use the colors Red, Brown and Caramel.  Here is my challenge card:

Riley is colored with copic markers, naturally, and then I used a Spellbinders Label die to cut out Riley and the carmel mat behind him.
I thought that the red music dp would be fun with the singing banjo playing Riley.
One of my favorite new punches is my MS wide lattice scalloped edge border punch.  I left a band in the middle so that I could add the embellishments.
I chose two red buttons and then because I have a new toy called the I-Top I made a red polka-dot button brad .  The rooster at the bottom of the card is a button that I colored a little with copic markers.

Be sure to check out the other DT members blogs for their challenge cards and of course the Riley and Company Challenge site and blog where we post everything Riley.

Play along with us, we'd love to have you.!

Thanks for stopping by and catch you later.

Teacher's Pet ...SCS Color Challenge

I decided last week that I had time to play a color challenge on SplitCoast Stampers.  I had colored my Sassy Cheryl's Teacher's Pet image in pinks and plums. The challenge was to use perfect plum, and creamy caramel,  so that would work.  Added Bonus!  What do you think?
I thought this dp from My Mind's Eye Delightful paper pack, which seems to be the only one I have been using lately :),  would be perfect.  I used a coordinating piece of plum striped dp from my LSS for the middle layer.  I punched the left side with the SU spiral punch, to look like  note book paper, and the right side with the MS fancy scalloped border punch.
The flowers are 5 petal flowers punched with a MS flower punch and mounted on coordinating dp punched with the MS medallion punch.

Short post today, I am working on many DT projects, none of which I can show you yet :) and I have to leave for work in  an hour.

Thanks for stopping by.  I almost forgot that Sassy Cheryl's has added a bunch of new images yesterday so be sure to check them out.  They are sooo much fun!!  Stop by and join the Sassy Cheryl's group on PCP and you will be there in time for the next free image when the group reaches 200 members..

Finally got to use this sentiment!!! and an Easter Card

I have wanted to use this sentiment for years.  I love it, but it just never fit anything I made, until today!!!
Sassy Cheryl's has a digital image called Dancing Debbie,  well to me she looks like she is putting that left foot out and shaking it all about!!!  See....

Yes, I am old enough to remember the Hokey Pokey...Yeah, and a lot of you are too!!!  Dancing Debbie just looks to me like she is doing the Hokey Pokey and loving it!

Hey, how do you like my brad in the upper right corner.  I got the I-Top brad maker today with my 40% off coupon for Michaels.  I really like the MS medallion punch and I like the way that the small brad made from my dp, looks in the center of it, don't you?
You can get the brads in small, medium and large.
I used my Elegant Tags from Spellbinders to make the sentiment tag, the sentiment fits just perfectloy in it.

I also want to share an Easter card I made with two of Sassy Cheryl's images that I merged into one card using Photo Shop Elements 7.

I had so much fun coloring this with copics, but it is hard to decide what colors to use when there are so many designs on the eggs LOL.
Not much explanation needed on this card.  Wonderful images for a fun colorful Easter card.
The Sassy Cheryl's images used for this were Easter Basket and Funky Bunny2.

Well, hope you are having a great week-end.  I have to go back to work tomorrow but will have another Mo's Digital Pencil card for you tomorrow.

My Mo's Digital blog hop winner , Candy, contacted me today so she is getting her Angelina image.

I know this is a short post but I have some more work to get done before I go to bed. I am finishing my card for the Riley and Company challenge this week.  You all need to come and play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by, always glad to have you.

No More Snow for Me!! Riley and Company

Okay, I was born and raised in the midwest, Iowa to be exact, and have lived in Nebraska for 15 years but.....this winter we have had 54 inches of snow and we still have at least a foot on the ground and another 4 inches expected tomorrow.  Well Riley and Company has Van Riley and Trailer Riley who have joined together to take me to Arizona....Road Trip!!!

For those of you who are geographically challenged, like me.  Omaha does not have mountains...those are snow mounds!!!!  The sign being held out the camper window says it all.  Arizona or Bust!
The road signs were created by hand, and for that I apologize.  The mountains and sign are from a set created by my good friend Theresa Momber called Happy Camper.   The cactus and cow skull are from another of Theresa's set called Out West.  Of course the Riley Van and Camper Riley are from Riley and Company.

So now you know how I really feel.  I am done with winter, from my mouth to God's ears!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Be sure to stop by later (after noon) to see if you were the winner of one of the images used to create my Mo's Digital Pencil Celebration Blog Hop card.  Only a couple of you left a way to contact you in the comment so you will need to contact me if you are picked as the winner!!!

It's Thursday!! Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Day

Wasn't the Mo's Digital Pencil Blog Hop fun!!!  To top that off Mo's Digital Pencil on PCP went over 1100 members tonight,  WoooHooo!!! You Go MO!!!
Okay, on to the fabulous challenge offered by Dawn this week.  A CAS (clean and simple) card.  It would only have one layer and one ribbon!!!Now that is a Challenge.  Here you go, my first CAS card:

CAS Mahn!!!  I love the colors of Jamaica and used Dante's Drum to make the single layer card a little more interesting I created a little beach scene :)  The sand under the little rhythm drum guy is created with copic markers with tiny dots of Copic multiliner pen to create the illusion of grains of sand.  The ocean was colored in with copics as well and I created a few billowy clouds off in the horizon.
The orange checked ribbon isn't very island like but it went with my colors, I almost added buttons but didn't think the challenge would allow it so I behaved myself,  it happens!!!

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations, I've seen peeks and you won't want to miss them.

Be sure to check back on the blogs that you left comments on for the Celebration Blog Hop to see if you won one of the images.  I believe most DT members will be choosing their winners on Friday or Saturday. I am choosing mine on Friday at noon.
Thanks for stopping by, always glad to have you here.

Tomorrow I will have a Riley and Company card as well as a Sassy Cheryl's card.

Lil Conductor--What a cutie!!

Today I have a card that I finished earlier in the week but I didnt want it to get hidden in a multiple card post it is too cute to hide :)

Isn't this a fun little image from Sassy Cheryl's?  I added a Rail Road clip art that I colored.  I colored everything with copic markers and sponged with Tim Holtz weathered wood distressed ink.
I knew exactly what I wanted for dp but do you think I could find it....I finally remembered that I had some digital paper that was in brown that would be perfect if I printed it in grey tones.  Walla!!! My engineer dp.
Every conductor has to collect tickets so I gave this little guy three tickets I stamped on a strip of cs and distressed to make them look like they had been held waiting to be collected.
The little engine button is from Michaels and this little guy is ready to go!!!

Wasn't the Mo's Digital Pencil Blog Hop fun.  You can still leave a comment for a chance to win one of the images that I used on my card.  The post is directly below this.  I will be drawing my winner on Friday at noon and posting the winner on my blog post that day.

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow for the Mo's Digital Pencil weekly Challenge.  It is a fun one !!!

You also have until a little time to get your collected letters figured out and email Mo with your answer for a chance at some awesome prizes.  Wish I was eligible!!!

See you later.

Mo's Digital Pencil special Blog Hop!!!

The winner has been chosen.  Thanks to everyone who left comments and loves Mo's Digital Pencil!!!

See my Friday February 19, 2010 post for the winner and contact information!!

Mo's Digital Pencil is celebrating 1000 members on Paper Craft Planet and Mo's 6 Month Anniversary of  Mo's Digital Pencil ,with a special celebration and prizes.  The Mo's Digital Pencil Dream Team and the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog DT have joined forces to bring you a special treat....

If you arrived here from Rosette's blog you are in exactly the right spot, if not, you really want to go back to Jak's blog and start at the beginning. On each blog there is a letter  and when you gather all the letters and unjumble them they spell out a phrase.  Gather all the letter and unscramble them for a chance at some awesome prizes!!!

The Blog Hop is to showcase our favorite Mo image and give each of you a chance to win it.  It was nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite but here is what I came up with:

I chose the little Balloon girl, Angelina,  with the static hair because she makes me giggle.  I thought it was equally appropriate (and funny) that Jill, from the Terrible Two's collection, should be standing in the background pouting.
I think that we all love and relate to Mo's images because we have all seen these little kids in our own children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews...they are just life and Mo's images remind us of all the special people and events in our lives.  Mo is a special talent that I am so happy to have found her.

Now all you have to do to win one of these darling images(your choice, Jill or Angelina) is leave a comment on my blog and I will chose a winner from the comments.  I will choose my winner and announce it on my blog on Friday at noon.  Please check back on my blog to see if you are the winner so that we can get your image to you.

So, gather the letters to form a phrase, send an email with your finished phrase to Mo directly at party@mosdigitalpencil.com with the phrase in the SUBJECT LINE!
Other prizes they can win which will be picked randomly from the participants who CORRECTLY send Mo the final phrase are:

three people win three each of Mo's Stampavie rubber stamps
three win a $10 GC
three win a Mo's coffee cup
three win a Mo's tote
three win a tee-shirt
Grand prize is the artwork

Next blog along your way is Michelle/Shell,  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment on each DT members blog for a chance to win their "favorite" image and grab the letter below for the unscrambled phrase contest.

Artistic Outpost Paris Exposition Collage

Hi Everybody,  I am happy to bring you a collage today that was created with the wonderful Paris Exposition stamps released by Artistic Outpost last month.  Paris is such a hot theme right now.  I wanted this to convey all of the items that might have been saved from this wonderful trip that would generate memories forever.

The little boy behind the fence looking at the airborne balloons, the sentiment and phrase stamps are all included in the Paris Exposition stamp plate.
I wanted to represent the fact that this was a remember when page so I stamped the ticket stamp four times to look like a strip of admission tickets.  The ticket stamp is from Vintage Circus and works perfectly for what I wanted to portray.
The Balloon dp was some that I had in my stash but it just wasn't quite as large as I wanted sooooo  I scanned it into my Photo Shop program and cropped the part I wanted to use.  I like the way it turned out.
I created the distressed circle buttons for added interest.  I didn't want flowers and thought that these worked well with the layout and feel I was going for.  The phrases on the Balloon dp were cut from misc dp I had and relay the message I was going for.
Be sure to check out all of the fabulous stamps at Artistic Outpost.

Butterfly Bunny is sooo Cute!!

Sassy Cheryl's has the cutest new image called Butterfly Bunny.  See what I mean....

This was so much fun to color,  I just went with whatever I felt like for each clothing item and in the end I think it all came out pretty cute.
The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with Frayed Corduroy distress ink.
The main image was mounted on a piece of blue bayou cs with the right side punched with the MS lattice border scalloped wide punch.
I added two 5 petal flowers in different coordinating dp and 3 MS butterflies to finish out the lattice fence.

I have the little Conductor colored and I will make a card either tonight or tomorrow.

Don't forget that Tuesday is the Mo's Digital Pencil combined DT's Blog Hop in celebration of the group having 1000 members.  Isn't that phenomenal!!  Well, at the rate we are going, we will barely be done celebrating this milestore before she hits 1100.
Well, I gotta keep coloring to get everything done I need to this week,

Catch you tomorrow!!

My Funny Valentine--Artistic Outpost

Today I decided to post my Artistic Outpost Valentine card.  I couldn't get the song My Funny Valentine out of my head this whole Valentine season so I decided to use the happy clown from Send in the Clowns and make a really fun Valentine. They don't all have to be mushy gushy now do they?

The funny clown from Artistic Outpost's Send in the Clowns set was the first stamp that came to mind when I couldn't get that song out of my head.
The embossed hearts and red quikutz label added some texture to the design.
The flower was created using the MS Hydreanga punches and centered on a  fancy scroll tag in white that was mounted on red cs highlighted with white gel pen faux paper piercing.
The sentiment was computer generated and then the ends were punched with the MS heart border punch.
3 heart decals on the clown suit and red hearts scattered randomly on the white cs and this happy Funny Valentine is ready to share!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check out the Artistic Outpost blog, there is an awesome new DT member, Shelly Hickox.  Welcome Shelly!

Thanks for stopping by and hope that you have a great Valentines Day tomorrow!

I Pledge Allegiance--Sassy Cheryl's

Had time today to color another Sassy Cheryl's super cute image called I Pledge Allegiance.  I have loved Americana since I can remember.  My home was overtaken with Red/White/Blue in antique color hues for 20 years.

I thought this little darling was sooo darn cute I just had to have her.  She was colored with copic markers trying to go with a more antique tone and coloring
I thought it woudl be fun to make some circle button holders(for lack of a better term) so I punched large blue and medium white. The edges were distressed pretty harshly which shows up much better in person or a close up view of the pix.
The blue panel behind the main image was distressed as well.  A red check ribbon keeps with the americana theme.  The large red buttons were some that I got on sale when one of our WalMart's was selling out of sewing stuff, I knew I would want them sometime :)
The little red star button is from my button stash.
The USA were cuttlebut alphabet letters from my letter drawer.

I will have a few more Sassy Cheryl's cards for you next week.

Be sure that you stop by the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog Hop on Tuesday with both the Challenge Team and Dream Team participating...Should be fun.  We get to pick our favorite image to use.  I can't wait to see what everyone chooses.  There will be a prize and it wll be loads of fun

Tomorrow I will have a Artistic Outpost Valentine card and who knows what else I may come up with :)

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!!

Super Cute Digital Images--Sassy Cheryl's

WooHoo, I am always happy when I find another super cute stamp company that has images that are sooo fun to color. I have the worst licensed enabler friends.  Peggy you know I am talking about you GF.   Sassy Cheryl's digital stamps are amazingly adorable and so reasonably priced... well, look what I am talking about:

This image is called Love's Healing Hands and there is a girl version of this image as well.  I'm sure I'll be showing you that one in the near future :)
I used copic markers  and a white gel pen on the main image.  I always love to add fur to bears and bunnies :)
The main image was cut out after coloring with a Spellbinder Label die and I sponged the outside edge before I removed it from the die leaving the nice white border.
The plaid die is the SU TopNote Die .  I thought this gave the image a real masculine look.  I sponged the edges of the card base and stamped my love you sentiiment.  Three geometric buttons and my first Sassy Cheryl's card is complete.

Be sure that you check out her store and her Paper Craft Planet group which is just getting started.
Cheryl is currently holding a DT call which will end on February 26 so check her blog for details if you are interested.

For those of you who have not visited my blog before, if you double click on my photos you can see the cards up close and personal :)

Thanks for stopping by, see you later with another project.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

It's Thursday!!! That means a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge :)  This week Dawn's Challenge is to use Red, Pink, White and your card must have a Heart while creating a Valentine's Day card.
Easy Peasy is this one!!!
The image that I chose for this challenge was Jason, from the Shy Valentine images.
Okay, I am sure that you already noticed that there is blue on my card.  I'm sorry, I just couldn't make this adorable little guy wear pink or red pants...now really!!!
The image was colored with copic markers and the edge was sponged with Tim Holtz Distress ink, worn lipstick.
Had to use my MS heart border punch along the bottom and let the red or the matte panel show through.
The Hearts are Spellbinder die that I cut from cardstock that I had already embossed with my filigree embossing folder made by Provo Craft for Cuttlebug.  The edges of the scalloped hearts were sponged with worn lipstick ink as well.
I wanted to add a touch of elegance to this card so I used my copic airbrush to paint the ivory string of pearls to a irridescent pink that matched the pink of the heart bow.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards and just a reminder that this is week two of the search for the March Guest Designer for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Team. You have to participate in all 4 challenges in February and use a Mo image and follow the challenge conditions to be eligible to win.

You can't win if you don't enter!!!

Riley and Company Challenge 2

Patti Stigsell, is the hostess for the second Riley and Company Challenge.  The challenge is to create a monochromatic card.  I must admit that I have minor issues with monochromatic as I always seem to throw in extra colors,  in my world they are all neutrals :) LOL  Here is my Challenge card:.

Birthday Riley is so much fun to use and you can do him in any color.
I chose shades or yellow/orange for my card.  Hopefully this fits the monochromatic challenge criteria
The ovals and scalloped ovals are Spellbinder and the fancy scalloped border is a Martha Stewart punch.
The Celebrate You are Quikutz dies.
Once again I found a sheet of dp in the Delightful paper pad from My Minds Eye that worked perfectly with the colors that I wanted.
A brown brad and two orange buttons and my card is ready to give to a special Birthday recipient.
Be sure to check out the other DT members blogs for their challenge cards. The DT names are listed on my sidebar.   Starting this week we are planning that YOU can participate in the challenge too.  Wanna play along this week??? All you need to do is to create a card using the above challenge. Once you have created your card/project go back to the Riley and Company Blog and place a comment with a link to your card/project to the Challenge  post so that we can see what you created. If you upload your card/project to SCS don't forget to include the keyword RILEY0210. We can't wait to see what you create!

Sweet and Sassy Digital Image

While I was cruising through the Paper Craft Planet groups I saw a banner that said that Sweet and Sassy had gone all digital.  I like digital but I am really picky but decided to check it out.  Well look what I found:

I am a sucker for an image or stamp with a music theme.  Music has always been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I wanted an elegant feel to this card.
I colored the image with copic markers and made a little darker than usual shadow around the image.
The main layers were sewn on with gold thread.  All layers were sewn and I actually did a really good job of sewing a narrow straight line , if I do say so myself. LOL
I tied a gold ribbon at the bottom with a double knot to which I attached a gold medallion.  In the upper left hand corner I added a winged cherub gold button and an elegant tag with the sentiment so thoughtfully included with the digital image.
You might want to check out the Sweet and Sassy digi images.
Well,  It is still snowing here and has been off and on since last Thursday...ugh, gotta love winter in Nebraska!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for the next Riley and Company DT challenge.  Patti is the hostess and the challenge is a fun one, you're gonna like it!!!

My Favorite Things Challenge card

I had a little time to play a couple of challenges this week-end and I have really had a ball doing them.   My Favorite Things had a sketch challenge that caught my eye so I inked up my cute little Pure Innocense stamp and created this little cutie:

Isn't she cute in her turquoise and lavendar dress.  This is Hearts and Stripes Pure Innocense and so far it is the only one that I have.  Seems they are really popular and every time I have a little money saved to buy a couple they are sold out , story of my life.
This little cutie works for lots of occassions by just changing the colors and embellishments so I am happy.
The challenge was a sketch challenge  and other than adding a band around the middle I followed the sketch exactly.
I love adding punched flowers to my cards and I have modified Lisa Cooks Hydreangia flower tutorial to work with other flower punches like the five petal MS flower added to a MS medallion.  I make them out of the same or coordinating cs and they always match and add so much to the card IMO.

You can check out all the entries on SplitCoastStampers using the keyword MFTWSC020310.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gonna color some more :)

Happy Coloring to you!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge

This week Phindy's Place is sponsoring the Cute Card Thursday Challenge.  To be honest I had colored this wonderful Mr. Brown goes shopping image and didn't know what I was going to do with it for sure.  When I picked out my dp and papers it qualified for the Dots and Spots theme for the Challenge.  Okay, added bonus:

Can't you just see Mr. Brown thinking of all the excuses that he can think of why he NEEDS this rusting relic?  Ah, the memories of a first love...a boy and his truck.

Riley Valentine card and Mo's Digital Pencil Between

It feels so good to be back in the swing of things and to have two cards to post in one day and not just one every couple of days :)  First I have the Mo's Digital Pencil freebie image Between created for hitting 900 members on PCP:

I thought this was such a cute Tween image.  Can you believe that the text on the dp on the right hand side was already printed on the dp, what a perfect break for me, perfect for the card.
I broke out my SU spiral punch for the bottom layer of dp.
My SU round tab punch was feeling neglected too and I thought that the dp tabs looked really cute on this school girl theme that I was going for.
This was the free image provided by Mo's Digital Pencil to members of either her Paper Craft Planet group or SNR group when she reached 900 members.  We are sitting at 984 right now, when we hit 1000 Mo will offer another freebie.
*************************************

My second card tonight from Riley and Company is a Moose ....Riley Moose to be exact!!!  (Yeah I know they are all Mooses)   He has a trio of beautiful balloons for Sophie.
The iimage Riley with Heart Balloon was stamped on white cs using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped two additional balloons on scrap white and colored them with copic markers and cut them out.  I hand drew in the string Riley using to hold the balloons.
The main image was colored with copic markers and then I cut out the label using the largest of the Quikutz label die.  I cut the main image and a red label at the same time.  This label die leaves a narrow edge cut that I like to use as a coordinating border.
The Medallions under the buttons are made with a MS punch.  I like the way it looks especially with the 3 fun buttons that I had in my stash.
The Love You sentiment tags are two of the dies from the Spellbinder Elegant Tags.
The corners seemed a little bare so I punched some red and white SU Photo corners and added a tiny half pearl in the corner of each.
Be sure to check out the Riley and Company website.  There will be a new Riley and Company DT challenge this week so keep your eyes open.  We thought that the Riley fans would like to play along in the challenges so I think that this week you will be able to play along.

Thanks for stopping by

See you tomorrow

Birds of a Feather--Artistic Outpost

My crafting time has been rather limited for the past month but everything is back to normal now so I have time to show you a couple of projects that I created for the January Release at Artistic Outpost.

Birds of a Feather is a wonderful set and birds are always so perfect for almost any occasion.  Here is my note card created with this beautiful set:

The embossing is done with a Quikutz embossing folder.
The oval was outlined with the copic airbrush system as well as the coloring on the robin.
I wanted to keep it rather simple so only tied a brown checked ribbon at the top.
This would be a wonderful iimage and design (if I do say so myself) for a set of gift cards.

Next I created a simple bookmark using the stamps from the Paris Exposition stamp set which was also released in January:

Very simple design.  I cut a strip of white cardstock 2X6. The corners were punched with the MS fancy corner punch (the one that has the coordinating border punch).   The hole for the colored fibers was punched with a 1/4 inch SU hold punch.
The balloon themed stamps were the ones that I chose for this bookmark.  The images were stamped randomly down the bookmark using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with copic marker in shades of blue.
The edges were sponged with brown and blue distress ink and the faux stitching was done with a SU brown journaling pen.

Thanks for stopping by.
Be sure to check out the Artistic Outpost blog and store for all of their wonderful stamps and inspirational projects by the DT.

See you tomorrow with a Riley and Company Valentine card.

Mini Tutorial on how I make clouds!!! Remember you asked for it!

I like to make clouds on my scene cards or  ones where a sky would be visible.  I made a card last week using a darling little guy (bear?) under an umbrella  from Phindy's Place and because it was a rainy day card I created some mild storm clouds.  I was asked how I made my clouds so I thought I would do a tiny minimalistic tutorial.  It is a procedure that would best be demonstrated with a video but.... no can do.
The pictures have the tutorial descriptions on them and you get a preview of my next Phindy's Place project.

You can double click on any picture to enlarge it for a better view:

Okay, if you have any questions just let me know and I will see what I can do to answer it!!!

See you all later,

Cathy

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Use Wood

When I read this Mo's Digital Pencil challenge  by Dawn, I panicked!  What in the world would I do for this challenge?  Well here is what I came up with:

I decided that the wood floor stamp that I had would be perfect for this image.  I colored the image and the wood floor with copic markers.  Mo always puts so many details in her images...see the kitty in the yarn basket?
I pulled a couple of coordinating papers from the My Minds Eye Delightful pack I have used so much lately..are you tired of it yet?
Added 3 prima flowers with button centers and you have a card made using wood.

Be sure that you check out the other DT members blogs and SHHHH don't tell a soul, but I heard from a reliable source,  Mo is going to have an exciting announcement on Thursday so be sure to keep checking in to find out what it is.  My lips are sealed......

Tomorrow I will have a Phindy's Place Birthday Challenge card for you.

Thanks for stopping by
Hope to see you tomorrow!!!

Have you found Phindy's Place on Paper Craft Planet yet?

One of my friends from Mo's Digital Pencil, Ann English, invited me to join a group called Phindy's Place on Paper Craft Planet.  I get invitations often and I always go and check them out but a lot of times the images aren't my style or too close to ones that I already am using so I pass.  You don't want to pass up Phindy's Place.  Here is my creation using the 400 member freebie (gotta love freebies) that I finally had time to color and make into a card.

I love umbrella rain images, don't know why, I just do!!!
I colored with copic markers and added some rain clouds using a sponge and Tim Holtz weathered wood distress ink.
I also sponged in the landscape and hand drew in the outline of the landscape with a copic multiliner pen.
The dp is a matt pack from K&Company called  Cut and Paste.
The flowers were punched from the reverse side of the doublesided paper.
The edge of the SU scalloped edge punch was sponged with Tim Holtz peeled paint distress ink which was the same color used to sponge the grassy area of the landscape.
When you create the flowers using the MS gardenia flower punches you have a few extra tiny flowers that you don't use to create the layered flowers so I added them to the scalloped circle, just because I thought it would be cute :)
Be sure to check out Phindy's Place as she has lots of wonderful images and there are always new ones.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gotta get ready for work

Oh, Mannnn! Wednesday's Child, Mo's Digital Pencil

Mo of Mo's Digital Pencil created a series of girls a few months ago with the Days of the Week Birthday sayings...  you know, Monday's Child is......  Now she is creating the boys.  This is Wednesday's Child:

If you are a mother, grandmother, aunt or friend you have seen this look!  Little brother has run his dump truck into the perfect high tower of blocks that Older brother has worked hard to build.  It is usually followed by MahhhhM!!!!

Wednesday's Child was colored with copic markers.  The outside border of the image was airbrushed with copic markers and my copic airbrush system.  The main image was mounted on a textured blue cs from my LSS that I had punched a kind of masculine border with a MS border punch.
The patterned dp was from a card making kit that I have had forever but thought the colors worked perfectly for the blue and kraft colors I had chosen.  I cut it at a diagonal for a little added interest.
The red band was crossed with narrow beige ribbon with red threads purchased at Michael's.
The little dump truck was actually yellow and black but I wanted it to coordinate with the reds and blues so I sprayed it with R29 copic marker using my airbrush system.
The three red assorted buttons were added to the upper left corner and the truck path was created with my cutterbug single row piercing thingie.  ( very technical term for the tool huh, LOL).

If you haven't already you still have time to join the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge this week which is to make a card using shades of gray.  You have until Wednesday to submit your creation.

Thanks for stopping by.  It seems sooo good to be back in the swing of creating after a rather crazy stressful month.
Happy Coloring!!!
