We're Back!!! Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

Did you all have a wonderful Christmas and get all the crafting stuff you asked for.?  We are back with a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and the hostess this week is the super talented Lisa Cook who chose the theme Beasts and Children.  Here is what I created by merging two images:

I think these two images qualify even though Late is hardly a beast.  I merged Late, which is one of my all time favorite Mo's images and the new Year of the Bunny image into a Happy New Year's card.
The images were merged in PhotoShop Elements 7 and colored with copic markers.  The outside was sponged with distress ink.
The 2011 banner was created with my cricut expression.  I am actually quite proud I figured that one out and it turned out almost as I envisioned it LOL.  The banner was airbrushed to match the image and dp.
The dp is BoBunny and the fancy punched border is a MS around the edge punch.  A few buttons and  rhinestones on the stars and my card is ready to wish you all the Happiest of New Years.
Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT has to show you, I know you will be pleased, they are awesome as always.
Be sure to check out the new baby images that Mo has been creating.... They are just too cute.

Thanks for stopping by.

Playtime!!!

I had time tonight to put a card together.  I love the animal images from Just Inklined and my favorite are the Cocker Spaniels or Terriers that look like my little fur babies past and present.  I chose this cute Cocker Spaniel Pup image for my project this week:

I decided that I was so done with Christmas colors LOL so decided to go with neutral tones for my image and mounted it on some rather abstract dp fromn Graphic 45.  I colored the image with copic markers, sponged the outside edge with distress ink and mounted on beige and black dp.
The cute dog house was cut with my cricut and mounted over a brown and white checked ribbon.  The Play ticket in the upper left corner is a Tim Holtz ticket and the bone attached to it is cricut cut.  I love using my cricut to add the embellishments that help make my cards not quite so plain.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  Mine is slightly delayed so the kids can all come up.  We are having our Christmas over New Year's.
Be sure to stop by the Just Inklined blog and store to see what the rest of the DT and the store have to offer, I know the store is having a half price sale...that's a great deal any day.

Have a great day.

Good Ol Toys!!! Paper Dolls

Hi everybody, are you all ready for Christmas?  I have been making paper dolls for my grand daughters that are the age to enjoy them.  The little girls 3 yo's are getting the vinyl paper dolls I made last month but I decided the 6 and 4 year olds might like them too.  I decided they were old enough for the tabbed clothes and besides that way I could use patterned dp.  The vinyl is really cute but only comes in solid colors.

Here is what I created for each girl.  I cut two of each piece while I was cutting.  On the upper left side are three different hair styles I cut in Black and Gold, below the hair is a little boy Indian costume.  6 littls shirts are below that.  Upper middle is the paper doll which I cut at 6 inches dressed in the little girl Indian Costume, isn't that just too cute???!!!  Below the Indian Girl are 6 pairs of pants and below that red pajamas and two dresses.  Upper right has a wedding dress two short shires a purple shirt and a mermaid outfit.

I just noticed the little shoe is falling off the Indian Girl LOL!!!

What do you think?  I think they are adorable.  I hand drew the facial features on the adhesive vinyl which was mounted on the magnetic paper doll body. They can dress them and put them on the fridge or you can play with them on a cookie sheet.

The Paper Doll Cartridge has hundreds of accessories and dresses and costumes that I will make more later.
I used the Twinkle Toes cartridge for the vinyl dolls but they were more little ballet outfits but the two little girls think they are Princesses so that will be perfect.

Well, that is all I have to show you tonight.  Merry Christmas to you and your families and I wish you all a Happy Holidays and the best of prospects for the New Year!!!

Hugs,
Cathy

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Do You See What I See?

Sassy Cheryl's  Bear Lovin DT member extraordinare, Judy, is our hostess this week and her Sassy Cheryl's Challenge theme is to use a Bear.  That is so easy since Sassy Cheryl's has the cutest Bears you could hope to find.  I chose this special image "Going to See the Star":

My all time favorite Christmas Song is "Do you see what I see?" sung by Andy Williams, and this image reminds me of that song and I can't help but sing it when I look at this card.  The image was colored with copic markers and mounted on soft sky dp. The trellis border punched from Eskimo Kisses dp added just a touch of color to the background.
I didn't want to detract too much from the image so used a small print Eskimo Kisses dp in green and soft sky and tied the silver cord along the left side over the image.  The finishing touch is a digi ticket  that I was able to add the sentiment to in Photo Shop.  Gotta love technology!!!
This is the final Sassy Cheryl's Challenge of the year 2010.  Please stop by the Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the DT creations and play along when you get a chance, the drawing for the prize for this challenge will be in 2 weeks.
I want to Wish every one of you a Wonderful Holiday filled with friends, family and all the calories you can stand!!!
My family is coming up for our Christmas on New Years but I will be spending this week getting ready.

I plan to post several times a week during the holidays as I just love to color whether I have a deadline or not.  Gotta spend more time with my Cricut too!

Merry Christmas to All my  Crafty friends!!!

Love and Peace Ya All!!!

I had to use this adorable couple, Audrey and Aubrey, for a down home Christmas greeting from the past, Peace!!   Being a child of the 60's these guys just epitomize the hippies who never gave it up.

I had so much fun coloring Audrey and Aubrey I didn't think I would ever stop, I kept adding details, and adding detail, but the images are drawn with so much detail but still have more than enough room to blend and shade and make images that almost look like photographs.
Be sure you stop by and see what the DT has been creating for you to see on the Just Inklined Blog and stop by the store and pick up a few images. There are tons of new images ready for the New Year.  Can you believe 2011 is only a couple of weeks away.  Wow, where has the time gone?
I hope you missed me this past week-end.  I colored this and 3 other Just Inklined images before I went out of town for my Granddaughter, Sierra's 3rd Birthday Party, and to watch the kids so that my daughter and her husband of 11 years could celebrate their Anniversary.  I just got home today at 3 and had to be at work at 6 so I didn't get this created for you until tonight.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are all ready for Christmas.  I am going to be creating some during the holidays so stop by and share a cup of coffee with me.  I'd love to see you.

Have a Wonderful Day!

Fantasy Challenge--Mo's Digital Pencil

This week our hostess for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge is Ms Lisa Cook , who chose the theme Fantasy, Fairies or Princess.  I may have stretched the Fantasy a little, but in keeping with the Season I chose North Pole Employees for my card:

Isn't this  just the cutest little elf ready to present the present?  He was colored with copic markers and mounted on red cs. the ornament dp is Eskimo Kisses Thin Ice and that was mounted on another Eskimo Kisses Alpine.  Love these papers, so much I didnt buy the new Cosmo Crisket Mittens this year. What's up with that LOL.  I'm going to ruin  my image!!!
The embellishments are the Christmas Plaid ribbon from Michaels, the Joy cut with my cricut and colored with my gold Atyou glitter pen and an enamel Christmas tree charm under the ribbon knot and my card is finished.
Be sure you check out the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has created for this fun challenge.
Mo has created some wonderful new images so be sure to check them out at the store

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

A Snowman's BFF-- Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

The challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog this week is hosted by the super talented Judy who chose the theme Snowmen:  As you all know, Sassy Cheryl's has the most awesome snowmen around so it was really tough to pick one, I went with a new image called Santa and Little Snowey:

It doesn't get much better than a cute Sassy snowman and Santa in one image, and what fun they were to color.
The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with distress ink.  The mittens were cut using my cricut expression Holiday Collection cartridge.  I added a mitten string of silver cord and the sentiment was hand written on a cute little vintage label I thought was the perfect size for the image.  A couple of MS holly leaves and my card is ready  to share.  The background dp is some of my hoarded Eskimo Kisses dp left from last Year's Cosmo Cricket paper pack. LOL

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations on the challenge blog and play along for a chance to win a free image from Sassy Cheryl's.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day wherever you are!!!

Look Quick won't last long!!! A Clean work space LOL!!!

Hello, and happy day after the first blizzard of the season!! Not much snow but the wind blew what we did get so hard you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you, good day to stay home and clean my work space.  It has been SO neglected, used and abused but not really cleaned for a long time. I forgot to mention I am not just showing my workspace because I think it is so awesome (its not) but because Sassy Cheryl's has a challenge called Show Me on Tuesdays and you are supposed to show your work space so everyone can see what you have been up to LOL.  Here is my clean work space. What do you think?

This is my desk and for today you can actually see 90 percent of the top of it.  To right from your view you see my cricut expression work table, the cuttlebug has been moved back tot he bakers rack behind and the card to the right of the bakers rack holds the cuttlebug folders and die cuts.  The shoe rack which holds my punches, one of the front of the door and another on the back, still have punches that don't have a home LOL.  My ribbons are in long narrow black storage thingies I found in the garage and I wish I had two more but since I don't I still have more ribbon in the 6 tier drawers to the right of my laptop (by the closet door.  The closed door is the bathroom and to the right of that, not showing is the laundry room.  My air compressor is on the floor under the laptop.

Jeni, here is my closet, just for you to see.  It may  not look organized to anyone else but everything has a tote and the totes are labeled.  The one shelf holds all my designer paper and paper packs.   There is a wire file cabinet style tote that has all my SU solid color card stock.  My 12X12 solid cs is in the file cabinet drawer in the desk.

Dreamy!!! Just Inklined fun image

The stamps I love from Just Inkined range from the beautiful flowers and building scapes to the Wrinklies and Daisy.  Well Here is Bertha Bedtime ready to tickle your funny bone while she dreams of her soap opera love!!!!

Can't you just hear that, wake yourself up from a dead sleep, snore about to erupt!!! LOL  Bertha Bedtime was colored with copic markers and the pink striped cloud layer was cut out using the cricut expression.  I took an existing image on a cartridge and stretched it into this shape using Design Studio.
The sentiment was created using Just Rite stamps but it turned out a little bigger than I wanted and too round, I cut it in half and punched the center with my 1 in punch.  I really lucked out as the printing was already done, usually I would cut off a letter or something.
Be sure stop by the Just Inklined Blog and see what the designers have to show you every day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Color Me Challenge--Sassy Cheryl's

A few weeks ago Sassy Cheryl's started a couple of new challenges that I have been trying to find time to play in, and I finally made it. This card is for the Color Me Challenge. This darling Bicycling Snowman was just too cute to resist.  What do you think?

I love this darling image and it was so fun to color.  This little snowman looks like he is riding to warn everyone that Winter is coming!!!  I thought this winter dp was just perfect for this little guy and didn't want to hide too much of it as it was too perfect for this image.
I added a red checked ribbon a trio of snow flakes and some blue dew drops to complete my card.
You should come and play along with the challenge, it is lots of fun and you could win a free image...added bonus.

Thanks for stopping by, catch you tomorrow.

Mo''s Digital Pencil Challenge--Winter Wonderland!!!

The challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge is to create a Winter Wonderland using Mo's Digital Pencil images.  Our wonderful hostess this week is the super talented Lisa.  Here is what I chose for my project:
This is a large card that measures 7 by 9 finished.  I guess I got a little carried away with the trees but.  To me Winter Wonderland is the beauty of falling snow and the grace (?) of skaters on an outdoor pond.  In the small town where I grew up we lived across from the city park and the city would flood the tennis court in winter for a skating rink.  One of my favorite winter past times.  I wasn't good but I sure enjoyed it.

Belle and Bronte Skating were colored with copic markers as were the 3  Christmas Trees I added to create my scene.  The pond was covered with Crystal Effects and outlined with MS Snow Glitter.  The falling snow in the sky is also MS snow glitter and I created the drifts of snow with snow glitter as well.
I didn't add too many embellishments, just 5 silver glitter snow flakes and gold metallic ribbon tied like a packge bow, as I wanted you to enjoy the little scene and smile a little.
Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the DT  cards.  We have a new DT member, Dorcas,  joining us this week.  Welcome teamie!!!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the Digital Pencil Store to see all the newest images Mo has created...I'm making my list!!!

Have a great day!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Yep it's Tuesday!!!

Yippeee it's Tuesday and that  means Sassy Cheryl's Challenge is here!  This week our hostess is ny good bud Judy and she chose for us to use at least 2 Sassy Cheryl's images.  That is easy enough, the hard part is deciding which two super creative images to use?!?  Here is what I came up with:

The jury is still out on the dp but I love the image and the way it colored up.  There is just something about this adorable tree trimming Moose that I fell in love with, maybe he reminds me of myself LOL.  The sweet little girl image I used is, A Special Tree and the oh so funny moose is, Christmas Moose.
The image was colored with copic markers and I added a red and green ribbon with a gold metalis edge.  I llike the reversible ribbons and the green and red were perfect for this card.  The corners were punched with a MS corner punch so a little of the plaid background dp showed through.
I only added a trio of buttons and a little gingerbred mini cookie cutter to the ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure you enter the challenge for a chance to win the cutest little snowman figure you could imagine.  I may hijack the mail and have it diverted to me!!!  Have I mentioned I LOVE snowmen!!! Yeah I thought I had a couple of times :)  And in case you hadn't noticed Cheryl creates the absolute cutest snowmen you could ever want.

You know Sassy Cheryl's will have some new awesome images for you today so be sure to stop by. There is also the weekly challenges and Cheryl's featured Artist. Join us in the fun.

Have a good day,
Cathy

Stitch It!! Just Inklined Blog Hop

Are you ready for another fantastic Just Inklined Blog Hop? ! ?  If you arrived here from Peri's blog you are on the right track, if not you might want to start at Debbie's Blog which is the beginning so you won't miss a single creation. along the way.  Debbie is the hostess this month and her choice of theme is to Stitch on your card, either real stitching or faux is fine.

I used the Poinsettia Wreath image for my card.  I love to color poinsettia's and this wreath was awesome to color, what do you think?

I actually did a lot of stitching on this card.  The base beige snowflake layer has a double row of gold metallic stitching, the scalloped circle was stitched in a circle just inside the scallops, I actually kept it pretty straight, LOL.  I then used free motion stitching in scalloped designs around the corners and border of hte red plaid layer.
A red velvet ribbon with gold bell, and NOEL cut from the red plaid dp in the upper left corner and my stitched card is complete.

The next stop along your Hop is the super talented Joyce, who I know has a wonderful project for you to see.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to stop by the Just Inklined Blog on your way to the store where you can purchase any of the wonderful images you on your hop!!!

Have a great day,

Cathy

Getting some Christmas gifts made!!!

Hi everybody, sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days because I strained my back on Thursday, yeah Happy 'Birthday to me!!!, and my mobility is limited.  I was able to sit which is unusual for a back strain so was able to work on some Christmas gifts.

My Son is engaged to a sweet girl and since they needed an address book I decided I would make her one and while I was at it I made a Post it Note holder and still need to cover the pencil holder but you will get the idea of what the theme is.  Here is what I created for Mindy:
I bought an address insert with tabs from Office Depot and made a chipboard cover which I covered with Tim Holtz dp.  A lot of hte elements were die cuts using my cuttlebug but the bird dages and pendent are cut with my cricut.  I used scrabble times for the Address words and because the insert was pre punched I used my crop a dile to punch the holes in the cover. As much as I wanted to use my bind it all, it just wasn't working so the address has binder rings so pages can be added if necessary.  The Post it note holder is 4X4 and I did use a lot of the same elements as the address book and the post it note pad can be easily changed out when it is empty.,  Think she will like it?

My second Christmas gift that I have to show you is for my two 3 year old granddaughters.  These are Cling Vinyl paper dolls.  I am still going to make the magnetic ones as well but I think these are cute too.  What do you think?

I completed my page layout in Design Studio and created one doll and two different sets of clothes with each cut,  Don't you think they turned out cute.  I am still going to put little rosey cheeks on the girls but other than that they are ready to play with.
I used the back from the cut out vinyl as it does not cut all the way through as the backing for my accessories so it will stick.  Not sure what I am going to do for a play surface yet but am thinking of a dry erase board?

Well, I need to get busy and finish some more projects just wanted to show you what I had been up to.

Thanks for stopping by.

Glitz and Glimmer--Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

I can't believe it is already Thursday...I am still catching up from Thanksgiving week-end.  Time for another Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and our hostess this week is Lisa and her terrific choice for the challenge is Glitz and Glitter.  Here is my card using Cat's in the Christmas Tree:

Until last year we have always had a cat at our house and although they didn't ever do this I love the image and the Charlie Brown tree is just too fun.  Lots of glitter on this card but it is so hard to photograph well so I took another pix below at an angle to show the glitter more.

The image was colored with copic markers and the sentiment was cut with my cricut expression out of silver glitter cardstock.  It took me a minute to get the sentiment to cut deep enough to cut all the way through but when I did a multi cut it worked great.
Below is my image where you can see the glitter better.  All the balls and the Christmas tree skirt, the branches of the trees and the sentiment.  I don't think I over did it....well maybe for me but it was fun and I really like the way it turned out.

Be sure to stop by the Challenge blog and see what the DT have created for you. Be sure you stop by Mo's Digital Pencil store to see all the wonderful Christmas Carole images she has for you...they are really cool!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Yea Me!!! I figured out Cricut Cartridge layering LOL

Some of my blogging friends, (Shirley) know that I have been struggling with figuring out the layering on the Cricut cartridges the past week.  I wanted to use the darling little dancers to make paper dolls for my granddaughters.  I don't usually have problems figuring out software and programs so  relieved it finally hit me like a ton of bricks!!! Here is my first sample:

Since this is only my sample to see if I could figure it our finally, the little dancer is only 3 1/2 inches tall.  I want to make them out of cling vinyl so the girls will have an easier time putting the clothes on. My kids had something similar growing up and they all loved to play with them.  I plan to make them about 5 inches tall but like I said this is just my sample.

I really wasn't as stupid as I felt because the Cricut lite cartridges don't show the layer image on the keyboard mat but when you  push the layer button it appears on the preview screen....duh moment.  The shift key brings up the image that is grey in the upper right corner but not the layer...why did I think I should see everything.  Glad I finally tried it.

I plan to add more dresses, pants, shirts, hair accessories, flowers, a house, trees and maybe a cat and dog.  Don't you think they will like them. .  I'll show you the finished project when I get it done.

Well, I have to get ready to go to work but just wanted to show you my ah ha moment.

Hope your Thanksgiving was fun, mine was and I am slowly recovering from all the fun!!!

Happy Thanksgiving and Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge!!!

For those of us in the United States today is Thanksgiving.  It is also Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge day and this week our wonderful hostess is Lydia, who chose for us to use Swirls and Flourishes.  The Little Drummer  Boy has always been one of my favorite Christmas Carols and when Mo created this wonderful little guy called, Shall I Play for You?,  I had to have him and couldn't wait to create this card:

As you all know who have been reading my blog, I got a  Cricut Expression last week and have had more fun "playing" with it.  I wanted to use a  piece of sheet music for the background of Shall I Play for You?  image so I printed one off the internet  on beige cardstock.   I wanted to not hide all of the title and musical notes with the image, but wanted the image to be the focal point, so I cut out the oval just off-center in the music using my Cricut Expression  center image feature.  I then cut a black matt for the inside (that was the tricky part, but I am getting better).
I centered the image under the cut out oval and taped it down.  The swirls were cut using my cuttlebug and because I wanted it to be simple and vintage like, I only added 3 poinsetta flowers for embellishments.
Mounted on a final layer of black cardstock my little Drummer Boy is gracing my craft table and making me smile.

Mo has lots of new Christmas images in the store right now, a Kitten with a Santa Hat, Some Scrooge Characters, my little Shall I Play for you and many more and as always they are exquisitely drawn and so fun to color.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope you have time to stop by the Challenge Blog to see what wonderful creations the Design Team has to show you.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Must be Tuesday!!! Thankful Wishes

The wonderfully talented Jeni  is our hostess this week for the Sassy Cheryl;'s Challenge and she has chosen, Thankful as the theme.  Here is my card:

I absolutely fell in love with this, Christmas Candy Cane Girl, last week when I saw it and knew that no matter what the theme this week I was going to use it.  Thanks for not choosing a snowman theme Jeni LOL!!!  I tried to keep the vintage feel of this with the colors and tone.

I got myself an early Birthday and Christmas present.  I have been wanting a Cricut Expression for a long time but when I went down to craft with Peggy a couple of weeks ago, has it been that long already?,  I made her show me what it could do with one, and I was sold.  What I love is that I bought the software so I don't have to buy all the cartridges, which would have put it out of my budget.  I have tried to find the Tim Holtz bird cage die  here in Omaha but it was never available when I went so I searched and found a SVG file with this bird cage and the cool thing is that I could re-size it to fit my card.   I also cut the I Love You sentiment with the expression.   I added handmade roses instead of a bird.

The reason I chose an I Love You sentiment is because I am sooo very thankful for my familiy, friends, DT family, and all of my blog followers who make me feel special,  and wanted to say Thank you and I Love you all.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT projects on the Challenge blog and you have to check out Sassy Cheryl's new images, she has some super adorable new images.

In case you didn't know Sassy Cheryl has licensed products which are sold in Hobby Lobby Stores and as a special treat one of these awesome plates will be given as a prize to a random drawn winner this week.  Here is what you could win:

I can't wait to get to Hobby Lobby to see the rest of the collection.  Aren't they adorable?  You have to enter for a chance to win so grab one of the new images and play along.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Wheeeeee!!!!! Just Inklined Mr. Hoppy

Yippee!!! It is Saturday and I just had to show you this super fun image from Just Inklined called Mr. Hoppy, no it is not a rabbit, Lookie:

I am not sure the playground is safe with that ornery looking Mr. Hoppy coming at you, LOL  What a blast this image was to color, I love the expression on the bouncy ball and the little fat cheeks on the little chubster going for the ride.
Just Inklined just has the cutest images and something for everybody, have you gotten tired of hearing me say that, well, it's so true.  There are funny characters and beautiful Christmas images including a new gorgeous Poinsetta Wreath and who doesn't love the instant gratification of a digital download.  You get your image on your computer immediately and you can resize it to fit your project.  No fuss no muss and you could even merge several of these little cuties together for a super fun Teacher card or to wish someone a Hoppy Birthday!!! :)  I couldn't resist!!!.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the week-end.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Use Punches

Lydia is the hostess this week for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and has chosen the Challenge--Use at least 3 punches.  That isn't hard for me since I love punches and die cuts.  Here is what I created using Kai is 1:

Kai looks so much like my youngest grandson, who will be 1 on January 29, that I may just save this card for Gage.  Kai was colored with copic markers and sponged with faded bluejeans distress ink.
The punches are the new MS punch anywhere small label punch in the upper right hand corner onto which I place the #1.
The rick rack road for the firetruck button travels along the bottom.

Riley and Company Sneak Peek #3 Skating Sophie

The Sneak Peeks for the Riley and Company Release this Thursday have been awesome.  The DT has really made some wonderful creations to inspire you.  Here is the cute Skating Sophie, my choice for today :)  :

I was at a loss for the best way to showcase this little beauty so I used the SCS Sketch Challenge layout, I think it looks great.  Skating Sophie was colored with copic markers and the pond was created with crystal effects, but as usual doesn't show up well in the photo.  The skirt of her skating costume was outlined with Atyou Spica Clear gel pen.
I added a few rhinestones in the corners which were punched with a MS corner punch and wrapped the base with white tulle to simulate the fancy costumes  most skaters wear.
Be sure to check out the rest of the DT projects, they have been nothing short of inspirational all week!!!

The Blog Hop is scheduled for 9 PM Central time on Thursday so mark your calendar so you don't miss a single stop along the way.  Each DT member will give away a new stamp of the winners choice and all you have to do is leave a comment on their blog.  Can't wait to see you there.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Countdown to Christmas!! I'm not ready!!!

I am really getting into the Christmas Spirit with Thanksgiving almost here and Christmas quickly approaching--- actually too quickly.  Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week, hosted by the ubber talented Jeni, is Countdown to Christmas.  Here is my card:

The first thing I do to get ready for the Christmas Holiday is decorate the tree so I thought this little group of hard working elves ,called Christmas Tree Elves, would be perfect.  This cute little trio were colored with copic markers and sponged with SU Soft Sky ink.  The ornaments were colored with the Atyou Spica penss as well but it doesn't show in the photo, unless you click it to enlarge the view.  The dp is from  the Cosmo Cricket Eskimo Kisses collection from last year.
The sentiment tag is a new Spellbinder tag die set I got last week.  I strung the wide velvet ribbon through and cut the ends, which I usually mess up on since I do it free hand :).  My favorite part of the card, besides the darling image are the little lights at the bottom of the card.  They are so cute so you will probably see them often this Christmas Season.
Be sure to stop by Sassy Cheryl's blog  and check out all the really cool stuff she is up to right now.  Sassy Friends on Monday, Color Me on Tuesday and What are you working On on Thursdays.  It is so much fun. While you are at it be sure to stop by the Challenge blog and check out what the DT has created for this week.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Riley and Company Sneak Peek #2 Holiday Time

Didn't you love the Riley and Company Sneak Peeks for Day 1?  I know you are going to love todays Sneaks too!!!  Here is Angel Riley:

There is something about angels at Christmas time, well anytime for that matter, that I love.  I tried to keep Angel Riley soft and sweet with his harp and halo.
The image was colored with copic  markers and  a gold Atyou Spica gel pens. The clouds were hand sponged using a post it note mask.  The Rejoice is from a Michaels Christmas button assortment and the large gold and pearl button in the upper right corner is from a Vintage button collections also from Michaels.
The ribbon is some I dyed myself last week.with glimmer mist and Distress ink refills.
The base dp is from a Tim Holtz collection I just love.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the rest of the DT blogs to check out what they have to show you today...I was blown away yesterday, weren't their projects awesome!!!

Riley and Company Sneak Peek #1 Holiday Time

Are you ready for the Holiday Time Riley and Company Release this week?  Today I get to show you the first of many sneak peeks.  Here is Antlers Riley  all decked out in his Santa Suit:

Isn't Riley just the cutest all dressed up in his Santa Suit,  He was so much fun to color with copic markers.  The dp is from my stash and the rick rack and ribbon are some of my favorite embellishments.  The red circle with the MS Holly punched out and sponged with distressed ink.  A tiny enamel silver charm added to the red check ribbon finishes my Holiday Times card.

Be sure to stop by the other DT members blogs to check out their Sneak Peeks starting today.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Rotton Robin---Bah Humbird!!!

I thought this was the cutest image from Just Inklined.  It is a freebie on the Just Inklined blog ( for real this time) :)  I just love the expression on this guys face, like me when I actually have to go shopping in the store with the mostly rude Holiday Shoppers.  Here is Rotton Robin:

The Rotton Robin was colored with copic markers and cut out.  I popped him up on the Spellbinder Medallion die.  Added a Poinsetta die cut and a fancy corner punch to tie in the red of his Santa hat and mounted him on the striped dp which I sewed onto the brown base.  A red checked ribbon embellished with a snowflake charm and my Bah Humbird card is complete.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Just Inkined blog for lots of new images that have been released lately.  There is a beautiful Poinsetta wreath I can't wait to finish to show you :)

Have a great day and hope to see you tomorrow for the start of the Sneak Peeks for the Riley and Company Release this week!

A Couple of new Challenges at Sassy Cheryl's

Tonight I am showing  you an image I colored for Sassy Cheryl's  "Color Me" Tuesday Challenge on her personal blog.  The idea is to buy the image she shows and color it,  You would be amazed how many different scenerios you come up with by giving the same image to 10 people.  Here is what I colored:

Isn't this just the most fun image.  Sassy Cheryl, affectionately known by me as Sassy Boss Lady, draws wonderful images to color.
I didn't want to color my santa in the traditional red suit so he got a kinda red, white, and blue with a touch of grey.
You should stop by and say hi and grab the image and color him up.  This is so  much fun.  Not sure if I was supposed to make a card with him for the challenge but, the challenge said solor the image and that is exactly what I did.  I will make a card and post to my blog in a few days.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great Sunday!!!

How embarrassing--my work space!!!

Only for you Cheryl am I subjecting my self to this personal embarrassment!!! LOL  I usually clean up my work space on Fridays but since Cheryl of Sassy Cheryl's has started a new Thursday Blog Challenge to Show what is on your desk I thought I would join in!!!

Yep, this is where I live, it is a bit larger as you can't see the cuttlebug station at the end of my desk.  The open door is a walk in closet where I keep lots of embellishments, paper, stamps, ribbon etc on the floor to ceiling shelves .
My favorite a handy feature is the over the door shoe pockets where I have punches,   I also have an identical one on the back side of the door, and they still don't all have a place to be...SHHH don't tell.  Under my laptop desk is where my air compressor is so all I have to do is reach down and grab the trigger.
My printer is hidden by the file folders which hold my printed images by company.
The bakers rack behind my desk holds my brads, eyelets, distress inks, sponges and SU ink pads.

Enough of this embarrasment...Next week's picture will hopefully be a little more organized...
Not as funny as Shirley's ironing board but it's my HOME!!!

Thanks for stopping by...now your space doesn't look so bad huh.....

Use Vellum or Acetate--Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

Where do the weeks go?  It is already Thursday and that means it is time for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  The Challenge this week, hosted by Lydia,  is to use Vellum or Acetate on your card.  Here is what I created:

I REALLY wanted to use this image for my card this week.  I love Broked and couldn't wait to color it and show you how cute and versitile she really is.  I colored her with copic markers, Peggy's to be exact!!! and cut her out with the long scalloped rectangle spellbinder die.  I left the die on and sponged around the outside of the image.  I mounted that layer on another white layer sponged with distress ink as well.
The lace ribbon was added to the outside left edge for a little touch of elegance and beauty, I love lace!!!  The dark rose with swirls dp is from the Eskimo Kisses Christmas dp from Cosmo Cricket.  I think that is my last piece of that color :(

I added a Vellum sentiment tag which I sponged with distress ink as well. and attached it with 3 dainty roses.

Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations on the Mo's Digital Pencil Blog!!!

Have a wonderful day.

Who named this exercise a Walk?

I have been having a hard time having enough time to color all the darling Just Inklined images, there are so many I just love and they are so fun to color.  Here is Daisy taking the dog for a "walk" and appropriately the image is called Walkies

Does that look like your dog walking experience?  LOL   Glad I have a little dog!!!
The image was colored with copic markers and  found a fire hydrant clip art I cut out and popped up in the lower right corner.
I stitched in a curvy border around the image to help give the feeling of little or no control.....
A distressed ribbon and 3 buttons and the "walkie" is complete.
Just Inklined just released another 2 groups of stamps and so I will have so many more fun images to share with you in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Just Inkined Blog to see all the newest images.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Use Tulle or Ribbon

The wonderfully talented Jeni is the hostess this week for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.  Tulle is becoming a ribbon of choice amongst some card makers and I personally like the way it looks.  A nice splash of color whicih is see through and maneuverable.  Here is Christmas Horn Bear for the Challenge this week:

I found lots and lots of tulle at my local Hobby Lobby a few months ago but knew I wouldn't really use that much for card making so I thought I would buy the white and red metalic and see if I could airbrush the white so it would match any color I wanted.  The above orange tulle is proof positive that it works.  What I did was cut the lengthh I wanted and then I folded it loosly to be about 2 inches wide and started spraying it, turning and unfolding it and refolding it until I got the color i wanted.  It does not bleed and it colored really evenly.
The image was colored with copics and the main image was sewn onto the beige layer using my new Janome Sew Mini sewing machine.  It is perfect for sewing on cards, compact and it does straight and zig zag stitching.
I thought the colors orange and green were cool fall/early winter colors and besides I had this really neat dp that i wanted to use LOL.
The fancy corner punches with brads are just about the only embellishment except for the Tulle ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the challenge blog and check out what the rest of the DT has created for your viewing pleasure.
The wonderfully talented Jak Heath is the Featured Artist this week on Cheryl's blog, be sure to check out her wonderful projects.  She is really amazing.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.l

I had a wonderful week-end!!!

I'll bet you wondered where I have been since I didnt post since last Thursday!  I met one of my cyber friends and spent two awesome days crafting in her wonderful craft room.  Peggy Marsh and I have been on Design Teams together for about 3 years and we felt like we really knew each other but it is always a little intense to spent two days in someone's home you have never met in person.
Here is proof I was in her incredible  craft room.

I kind of caught Peggy unaware I was going to snap this but she said it was okay to post.  I was a little disappointed it was just the two of us so we couldn't get any pictures together, but  you gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe next time.
We colored and showed each other techniques and shared embellishments and did a little swapping.
OMG Peggy is a wonderful cook and spoiled me rotten the whole time I was there.
Thanks for a wonderful two days Peggy, we will have to do it again.
Now I have to get busy and get my challenge cards for the week done LOL

Catch you guys tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Pockets

I loved the challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge chosen by our hostess, the awesome talent Lydia.  The challenge is to use a pocket, on your card, in your card or to be your card.  I had  more trouble making up my mind on this one and it took me days to decide what I wanted to do LOL.  Here is what I created:

I created a library card pocket to showcase this darling from the little fairy collection.  I have always thought of these adorable little girls as Pocket Fairies, so couldn't get that thought out of my mind when making my decision.  The project came together pretty quickly once I decided on my Library card Pocket LOL.
The image was colored with copic markers and was die cut on the angle with a spellbinder die.  I used a Quikkutz outer border piece behind the fairy image.  The edges of the image and pocket folder were sponged with distressed ink as was the library card insert.
A little yarn flower highlights the corner of the library card and my little project is complete.  I may  make some for my grandkids for Christmas, I love them.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations on the Challenge Blog and play along with us, we love to see what you have created.

On a sad note, Lydia, our hostess for this week notified the team today that her father, for whom she is the caregiver, passed away in his sleep last night.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Lydia and her familiy during this very difficult time.  Love ya girl!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Horray for Tuesday--Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

Yippee, it's Tuesday and that means another fun Challenge at Sassy Cheryl's.  We're still looking for a Guest Designer so this is your perfect opportunity to put on your big girl panties and enter the challenge, the next guest designer could be YOU!!!
The challenge this week is by the one of our newest super talented DT members, Jeni.  Jeni chose the theme Fall colors.  Here is my card:

The fall we have been having in Omaha has been rather blustery and I wanted to portray that in my card.  I used this wonderful image called May , but I colored it in fall colors, wanting to use brown and dusty rose which are some of my favorite fall colors.  They may not be traditional fall colors but I guess I am not such a traditional kinda gal :).
The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with distress ink.  The edges of the rose dp was also sponged with distress ink.
The scalloped rose panel was embossed with my fall leaf embossing folder and I love the way it deep embossed bringing out the white core of the card stock so it looks like I sanded it.  I also punched leaves from the same embossed cs for the leaves in the upper right corner.
A brown and white checked ribbon and my card is complete.
Be sure to stop by the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT members have created, I know you are gonna love all the rich fall colors and beautiful creations.
I know my Sassy Boss Lady, Cheryl, has created some new images for you. If I know Cheryl they will be awesome and must have's.
Take a few minutes this week and enter the challenge, you will not only get to play with some awesome images but that Guest Designer spot is waiting for someone just like you!!!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of blogville!!

Riley and Company Challenge--An awesome Sketch

What a wonderful sketch the wonderfully talented Cindy has created for us this week forThe Riley and Company Challenge. Here is my sketch card:

Were you surprised I didn't turn the sketch or change it?  I don't ALWAYS change the challenges, especially sketch challenges :)
I love Detective Riley and didn't really want to do another fall, Christmas card so decided this would be fun.  The sketch kind of covered up the detective dp I used but that is all right.  The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with distress ink. Each square piece behind the main image was sponged as well.
I used a large scalloped border punch for the bottom and cut one from the red and one from black.
Two antique buttons from my Grandpa's button collection were perfect for the two embellishments on the sketch. The wham words on each square were from the detective sticker sentiment page which coordinated with the dp.
Be sure to stop by each DT members blog to see what awesome projects they created with the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

November Just Inklined Blog Hop--Punches

Yippee, it's time for the monthly Just Inklined Blog Hop!!! If you arrived here from Peri's blog you are on the right path, if not please start at Lydia's Blog as you won'want to miss a single stop along the way. Our hostess this month is the wonderfully talented Lydia :)  The theme Lydia chose was to use at least 2 punches.  Here is my card:

For my card I chose the beautiful Kissing Robins.  I added a few evergreen boughs in the upper left corner and I sewed the layers together.  The image was colored with copic markers and sponged with distress ink.
The punches I used were the large MS scalloped lattice,  MS snowflakes, the spiral flower started out as a circle punch and the leaves are MS leaf punch, and finally the Love sentiment tag is a Vintage label tag punch purchased at my LSS.
The snowflakes, snow ridges on the birdhouse, the top scallop of the lattice and the right side of each evergreen bough were covered with MS course glitter.  Of course the glitter doesn't show up in the photo but if you double click the picture it should show up in the enlarged picture :)

Next stop along the hop is the incredibly talented Toni, I know she will have an awesome card to show you!!!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to enjoy the Hop and take time to stop by the store and check out all the new images, there is something for any card you need to, or ever thought of creating!!!

Have a great day!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Pick a Season!

Yippee, it is Thursday and that means Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  Our awesomely talented hostess this week is Dawn, haven't her challenges been fun?  Her theme is to Pick a Season!  Here is my card:

My two favorite seasons are Spring and Fall, Spring because the beautiful flowers, budding trees and chirping birds are back,  I know Winter is over.  Fall provides so many beautifuil colors and wonderful weather, not too hot and not too cold, perfect for me.
I think Rae with Journal, one of the Dani and Friends girls is beautiful.  I love to color her, and to keep with my, maybe Fall, maybe Spring, I wanted  the colors to be vibrant and I think I accomplished this. I like pink and green together so those are the colors I chose for Rae's outfit.  Used the TopNote die cut from SU for the main image and only added a ribbon topped with a tiny rose.  I added 5 more paper roses to the vines on the left side of the middle layer.
I know the rest of the DT have some awesome cards to show you so be sure to stop by the Challenge blog and check them out.  We would love to have you play along and there is always a chance to win a free Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Turkey on Strike

Just Inklined has so many awesome stamp, digital images, that I can hardly decide which ones to buy and color next.  I chose Turkey on Strike and it was so much fun to color, and makes me smile.  What do you think?:

True turkey colors are a little boring so I opted for more fall, fun colors which I colored in with copic markers and the edges were sponged with distress ink.  The dp is from my stash and purchased from the dollar bins at Target.
I added a strip of orange and yellow for a  little added interest and to break up the background a little and focus the interest on the Turkey.
The dp was busy enough I decided to go with a large orange button in the lower left corner and two tabs with brads in the upper right corner.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure you stop by the Just Inklined Store to see all of the awesome new images they have to offer.  There is truly something for everyone, beautiful flowers, building landscapes, wrinklies, animals of all kinds, gorgeous birds and lots of beautiful Christmas images.  Check it out.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Must be Tuesday!!! Guest Designer Challenges

Yep, it is Tuesday and that means Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.  Our hostess this week is the wonderfully talented Lily, who chose the theme,  Anything but a Square.  Here is my card:

Isn't this little, Raggedy, called A Fat little Raggedy,  just the cutest little thing.  I always loved my traditional Raggedy Ann doll my mother made when I was little.  I tried to color her in more vintage colors in beiges and blues.  Calico prints were always big in vintage everyday use. and I love this dp for my vintage cards right now.  I used the same dp for hte flowers which I distressed and staged the flower petals to be less than perfect,
The ribbon is dyed seam binding which has been heat treated for the vintage look.  I really want to try this, I have bought the seam binding just haven't taken time to make any yet.
I know the Challenge was to make a card anything but a square and I technically made a rectangle so it qualifies.  I wanted to use my cute little Raggedy and I think an Oval might have fit my vintage touch I wanted, but a circle would have been too modern.
Be sure to check out the DT challenge cards, I know you won't be disappointed.
Important Information about the Guest Designer Challenge.  The next two challenges will be used to choose the next Sassy Cheryl's Guest Designer for a month.  The Contest will run for this challenge and the next Challenge as well and the DT will choose the Guest Designer.  We would love to have you play along and be the next Guest Designer.
As always, Sassy Cheryl's has new images for you and they are super as always.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

I need to clarify the Newsletter confusion!!

I don't profess to be the brightest pea in the pod and just wanted to make sure you all know about the Just Inklined freebie images I keep commenting on and showing on my blog.

I can honestly say, I really thought the newsletter came directly from the Just Inklined blog, but it is acutally the store where the Just Inklined images are sold that offers the freebie in their weekly newsletter.

I hope you will all support these beautiful free images by looking through all of the incredible images offered by  Just Inklined, I know you will love the variety and incredible detail in each and every image.

If you have any questions just contact me and I will try to clarify better if needed.
