Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge--Pumpkin Pie!

The Hanna Stamps Weekly challenge by Jeanne this week is to use Pumpkin Pie on the card.  My pumpkin pie is the label 4 behind the main Nurse Riley image  and of course one of the stripes in the dp is the same color.
The striped dp is from a halloween paper pack from the dollar bin at Target.  The green border is the outside edge of the Quikutz labels die, I think they make a cute outline.  The white are the smaller size of the same label die.
The bat,  Trick or Treat bag,  and Trick or Treat sentiment are from the Trick or Treat mini set from Hanna Stamps last fall.  If you have time you should scoot on over to the Hanna Stamps weekly Challenge forum and play along.

Hope that everyone has a Happy and  safe Halloween !!!  I probably won't see you again until Sunday as I have company coming for the week-end. Have a good one!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Back!!!

I am finally starting to feel a little more normal.  The swelling is going down therefore I am more comfortable.  I went to work today but only made it 3/12 hours.  I wll probably make most of my shift tomorrow.  TGIF

If you are a mother you have seen this little girl. Ella in Trouble, from Mo's Digital Pencil, wants to look as beautiful as mommy and Practice does make Perfect LOL.  Fortunately I really never had the make up problem, even with three daughters, but I had a Granddaughter who was a terror with the fingernail polish and lipstick.  At least now that she is old enough to wear makeup she does know how to apply it "perfectly"  :)

Just a quick post to say hi, I'm back, so expect posts much more frequently now.
Friday is Hanna Stamps Weekly Challenge and I have a card ready, just waiting to post until tomorrow am.
My daughter and her family is coming up from Kansas City Saturday to spend Halloween with her sister's family and her dad and I.  It has been a while since I have seen the kids and am very anxious to see them all.
I have to go for now and get to bed because I do have to go to work tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes before, during and after my surgery. It was very much appreciated.

Friday, Hanna Stamps Weekly Challenge card

Yep, it is finally Friday and I not only look forward to this being the end of my work week but it is Hanna Stamps Weekly Challenge Day and I always look forward to that!

Sandra is our hostess this week and her challenge was to pick an obscure October Holiday and create a card for that holiday. I chose Adopt a Dog! I have always had a soft spot for dogs (well animals in general )and my first dog was a beagle named Taffy. The bassett in the Detective Hanna set is pretty close and so cute I used him. What do you think?

I colored the Detective Hanna dog with copic markers and cut it out leaving a small white border so that he didn't blend in too much into the green die cut label.

I used my new Quikutz label die that cuts a main label and a narrow border so I just layer both colors that I want to use in one cut. I used two different sizes of labels and really like the dimension it gives the card.

The sentiment is a doggie sentiment stamp set from Michaels and has a lot of cute dog related sentiments and bones, paw prints, and sentiments and I thought it worked well with this image and this challenge.

I added 3 of my new favorite embellishment, punched and molded flowers and 3 dew drops in the upper and lower corners.

You should go and play along, we would love to have you.

Tomorrow I will have a Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge so be sure to stop by and see what I have created with the designated colors.

Well, I have some coloring to do, it's a tough job but someone has to do it :) LOL

Happy Coloring!

Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge

The challenge on the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge hosted by Frances was to make a card using fall colors. I carried it a bit farther and made it fall colors with a fall theme. Gardner Hanna works for Lawn Work Hanna tasks too :)

I had just gotten this maple leave dp in a paper pack in the 1.00 bins at Target and I thought it would be perfect for this card. I used the Gardner Hanna from Hanna Stamps with the rake and the wheelbarrow also included in the set.

Colored Hanna with copic markers and free handed in a tree (the leaves have to fall from somewhere). I sponged in the ground in browns and greens and the blue for the sky was airbrushed on.

The fun part was punching maple leaves out of fall colored dp with my MS maple leaf punch and glueing them on to look like a leaf pile. The leaves were a little big proportionately but I think it turned out okay.

Used my Spellbinder rectangle scalloped die for the sentiment tag and made a second run through cutting it in half. Stamped on the Thinking of You sentiment (should have read, Wish you were Here :) ) and slid it under the narrow brown satin ribbon and my challenge card is ready.

Thanks for looking. I have to go to work today so not sure when I have another project for you but I have a Mo's Digital Pencil image colored, just need to finish the card. Maybe tonight :)

Since I have to go to work today, I need to keep plugging away. Have a great day!

Trick or Treat, Mo's Digital Pencil

Last night Mo's Digital Pencil Paper Craft Planet group went over 300 members and when it hits a new milestone Mo gives us a freebie. Isn't this an awesome freebie?

I didn't want to color this darling image all black and I thought that I would use my favorite Halloween colors on it, orange, grey, and green. Bella and Bronte ( really a dog hiding under a cat mask) are off trick or treating. Yeah, he is thrilled I'm sure!!! LOL

Mo puts so much detail in all of her images, for instance the cat tail is tied on and there are dog bones in the pumpkin bucket that Bronte is carrying. Can you believe that anyone would put that much detail into something they were giving away? I don't really know her personally but I love her images and I love the way she treats her group members.

Hope you enjoy this little Halloween image. Tomorrow I will have a Friday Hanna Stamps Challenge card. I can't believe that it is friday already.

Gotta keep coloring... See you tomorrow!

Pirate Riley Genie bag!

Today is Friday and you all know what that means....Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge. The host this week is Cindy Haffner who chose a genie bag as the challenge. Here is my first ever genie bag:You can find the directions for creating the Genie bag on SCS in the Resources section.
I didn't actually have a bag that would work for this project so I made one from printer paper.

Pirate Riley was colored with copic markers and then the border was sponged with SU pumpkin pie classic ink. The Riley oval was mounted on an orange oval and a black scalloped oval all created with my spellbinder nestibilities.

The Halloween dp was some I had in my stash from Michaels and that was mounted on black and then onto SU pumpkin pie cs.

The eyelets were attached with the crop-o-dile and the orange black stitched grosgrain ribbon was threaded through the eyelets and tied in a loose knot to hold the top together making for easy access to the goodies that might be in the bag.

You should join us over at the Hanna Stamps forum for the Friday Challenge and show off the Genie bag that you create! If you do create a genie bag be sure to add the keyword HSC87 so we can see your wonderful project.

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.

On Your Toes! Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge Card

Friday is my day to do the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge. Today Kerry is the host and chose a sketch challenge, which was a great one. Sketch challenges are my favorite because I struggle with layouts, nice to have it done for me :)
Here is "On Your Toes!" Ballerina Sophie from Hanna Stamps.

I did pretty good following the sketch but did change the panel at the bottom going horizontally as it was just too much of the same color but the designer paper I chose didn't lend itself well to adding another so I decided to cut thin strips of the blue cs and with the red showing through it would work for the sketch. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

The Spellbinders label 4 really added a lot to showcase the image, IMO, but I do wish that there were in between sizes so that they looked more like a border than the wide border, but I still really like them :)

Sophie was colored with copics and sponged with Tim Holtz weathered wood distressed ink.

The white lace insert in the blue scallopped side panel is from K & Company and is self adhesive paper lace.

Three buttons from my stash and my challenge card is done.

I think Ballerina Sophie is in the spotlight for today and just want to thank Kerry for the great sketch challenge.

See you later with a card that would be perfect for all of those little monkey's you want to send something cute to!

This is my last night of working nights until at least January so you won't see me posting during the day for awhile. I am so not a morning person so the chance that I will get up early enough to post something and get ready for work.... yea, probably won't happen :)

Tomorrow is Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge day and wait till you see the card I did this week, no flowers and laid back images for me!!!

Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge card

The Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge this week was hosted by Ilina who chose an inspiration challenge. I don't remember if I have ever done but one other inspiration challenge but they are a little intimidating to me :O The picture had lots of rectangles and earth tones.
I decided to do a quilt square card with the Happy Halloween scarecrow colored in neutral tones, I think that meets the challenge requirements.
I drew the rectangles by hand with my Copic micro pen. I stamped some of the accessory stamps into the rectangles and sponged around all the edges including the inside edges. The accessories were colored with copic markers as was the scarecrow image.
I mounted the scarecrow image on foam pictures mounting tape on the brown mat layer to add some dimension to the card.
The only embellishment that I added was a trio of punched spiders and an orange button.
Be sure to go check-out the sneak peeks going on right now at the SCS Hanna Stamps company forum and see all of the awesome new sets and Riley's that will be released on Tuesday night.
I won't be able to attend the Release party this month because I am working nights for one more week and after that I will be there.
Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.

Look what I found!

Through a DT friend, Peggy Marsh aka The Wired Angel, I found this awesome website for the most detailed digital images. The site is Mo's Digital Pencil. I have a blinkie banner on the sidebar linked to her store. Check it out, you're gonna love it!

I bought a couple of images night before last and have been in coloring heaven ever since. Here is my first card: Attitude..it's all in the Accessories!

Every time I look at this little dog it makes me laugh. I haven't decided if he/she is aggrevated because of the big collar or if it makes them feel Big and Bad!! Either way it is adorable.

I colored with copics of course and sponged with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink. added Sukura stardust pen to the spikes and name tag on the collar.

The dog tag is the Round tab punch SU with a tiny hole punched to add the jump ring. I added my dog print twill ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby and tied the dog tag on. Added the silver brads at the bottom to coordinate with the spike collar.

Don't you agree that this little dog Is All That!!! LOL

I have a couple more beautiful images colored and will be making cards today or tomorrow.

I am getting my Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge card done right now. Hanna Stamps sneak peeks for the September release next Tuesday started today. Check out what the DT members have done. Sure wish my DT term had started this month, the new images are awesome!!!

Catch you later,

Cathy

Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge--Birthday card

Friday is Hanna Stamps challenge day. This week Jeanne chose to have the challenge be to make a Birthday Card as Friday was her mother's birthday. Since Monday is my sister's birthday I thought I would make a card for her. Here is Cafe Hanna in blue!:

Image was colored with copic markers and the dots on the dress were highlighted with a white gel pen. The main image was sponged with Tim Holtz Distress ink faded denim.

The white Martha Steward border punch created the delicate edge behind the main image. The one inch wide grosgrain ribbon was tied over a piece of blue dotted digital paper. I kept everything blue because Peg loves blue.

Hope you all have a great day, Later I will have a card for the Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT Copic Challenge but right now I am going to bed!

Good Night,

Cathy

Friday Hanna Stamps Challenge

Yep, this is Friday and time for the Hanna Stamps Challenge. Today Silke is the host of the challenge and her challenge was to use dew drops on your project.

I thought it would be fun to use my Hanna Stamps bride stamp and make her a fall bride. I only have pale blue and brown dew drops so went with brown tones.

I colored the image with koh-i-nor color pencils because I wanted to keep the shades pale. The edge of the image was sponged with Adirondak sunset orange and Tim Holtz vintage photo and black soot distress inks.

All of the edges were sponged lightly with black soot distress ink and mounted on black cs. The brown/black checked ribbon and bow were added to the middle panel, a corner photo mount under the ribbon on the right side and upper left hand corner. A paper flower from the Cloe collection at Michaels was added to the lower right corner of the image.

The dew drops were added, 3 at the top right corner and 3 in the lower left corner, one in the flower center and the final dew drop on the photo corner in the upper left corner.

Wouldn't she be a beautiful bride on Halloween day/night.

Gotta go to work now, see you all later.

Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge Circular Bookmark

The Friday Challenge on Hanna Stamps was to make a circular card. I finally got around to getting my card made this afternoon but didn't have time to photograph it and post it before I had to go to work. Don't you hate it when work interferes with what you love to do?

I decided that I wanted to use Bookworm Hanna, from Hanna Stamps of course, for my card and then I decided that it would be a perfect bookmark since I had cut it out to open at the top, it would fit perfectly over a page to save my place.

The sponging was done with the nestie die still over the cs. Oops, forgot to mention that I used a large circle spellbinders nestability die to cut out my circle. I stamped the image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I have a large pad for most things but I also have a dew drop Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad which I used for the lettering so that I could only ink up the words one at a time.

The image was colored with copic markers, no shock there, and in about the time it took me to color the image my project was done. I think it was 30 minutes start to finish and for me that is an instant card :)

Tomorrow I am going to have 2 projects from KLM Digital Designs using two new images that are being released on August 1. There are also some new WONDERFUL new images available on the KLM Digital Designs site so be sure to check them out.

I will see you all later, I can't say tomorrow because it is already tomorrow :)

GoodNight,

Cathy

My Favorite Jerk!

What? My favorite Jerk is a Soda Jerk, of course :)
I got my Round 2 BubbleBath Sophie from Hanna Stamps for the next round in the Guest Designer Challenge. She is adorable. I also got the super cute Ice Cream Riley. I couldn't resist the title....

I created a Peek-a-boo box but created a lid for it as well. I added stripes to the IceCream Riley's uniform. you can see in the second picture that I made a scalloped edge for the box lid using my fiscars border punch. The tag was created using microsoft word and punched out with the SU scalloped circle punch.
The box was sponged with Tim Holtz Lipstick red distressed ink as well as Vintage Photo. I added a strip of the red and white polka dot paper, that was left from punching my border,on the scalloped circle tag. A red button was glued to the center of the tag and my gift box was completed.
Instructions for making the peed-a-boo box were on SCS a long time ago and I have had the pattern since then but it was just brought back as a tutorial a couple of weeks ago and you can find the directions here.
I created the Riley Golf Gift box below for the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge. The challenge was hosted by Adela this week and her challenge was to make a 3-D item and use acetate. Here is my project:
I was able to cheat a little on the challenge since I already had the acetate sleeve I made a lid and bottom for it using white cs and I covered that witih the polka dot dp. I thought a couple of golf balls and tees would be a nice little gift item. I colored Golf Riley with copics and I have been know to dress him in a shirt and knickers but this time I left him au natural :) I wrote the tag out because I was too lazy to print it out on the computer. I hate to waste a whole sheet of cs for one sentiment, KWIM!
I tied the package together with a piece of brown and white checked ribbon to keep it a masculine gift and punched a tiny hole in each tag and strung the ribbon through the hole. Easy Peasy!

Hope you had a great week-end.

Not sure what I will have for you tomorrow but it is my day off so you know I will be creating!!!

See ya then...

Let it Snow! Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge card

Kerry D-C is the host this week for the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge. Her challenge was to make a Christmas themed project. I love this little Riley moose building a snowman. I thought it would be fun if he was building the snowman with a gentle snowfall.
The image was colored with copic markers, snow is added to the accent areas with a white gel pen. The image needed a little something to fit nicely on the Top Note die so I drew in the two pine trees on the left side and colored them with copic markers, highlighted with the white gel pen and a clear gel pen for sparkle. I also drew in the horizon.
The falling snow was added with a Micro pen which is the same pen I used to draw the trees. I added a dot of blue and grey copic marker to each snowflake on the main image. I then went over the entire area with the copic blender pen to soften the copic ink.
To finish the card I added a scalloped edge at the bottom, added a blue ribbon, my favorite touch is the Tim Holtz fragment that I glued a die cut snowflake to the backside. The snowflakes on the dp were outlined with the clear gel pen for added sparkle you just can't see it in the picture unless you look reeeaall close.
Have a great week-end and be safe.

Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge/Guest Designer Call entry!

I am so happy to have time to do the Hanna Stamps Friday challenges again. I used to do them all the time and then my work schedule changed and life got in the way but I am back. This is the third week in a row I have been able to do a Friday challenge on Friday :) I am also entering this as an entry in the Guest Designer Call.

Here is Perfect Present Hanna!

The challenge this week presented by Ilana was an inspiration challenge, a Vera Bradley bag. I went with the colors for my card. I picked out two Martha Stewart dp papers that had the pink, orange, yellow and white I picked to use from the inspiration picture.

I added some stripes and polka dots to the shopping bags and colored with copic markers. I sponged the main image with Tim Holtz worn lipstick distress ink, added the gift tag , prima flowers and gold rimmed half pearl in the flower center and my card is complete.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Cathy
