Artistic Outpost--Sleigh Ride

A few weeks ago I saw one of the new Artistic Outpost stamp plates called Sleigh Ride on my friend Lynn's Blog and I knew I had to have it.  Don't you agree it was a must have?  :

I used the tree stamp which I masked behind the boy and girl on the sleigh and added a few snow flakes to the sky.  The Merry Christmas, Scroll with Ivy and the side ivy plants are three different elements included in the stamp plate.
I added a ribbon of Tulle which I tied into a knot.  It is a sparkly red glitter tulle that has shed sparkles all over my desk. If you see red sparkles on my next few projects you will know why LOL.
It was so much fun to play with an Artistic Outpost set again, makes me wish I was still on the DT but I can only do what I can do and so I will have to be content to play with the sets when I can. 
This set has lots of awesome elements and is wonderful for Vintage Christmas cards, journales, scrapbook pages etc.

Know someone feeling Crabby? Here's your card!!!

Artistic Outpost released 3 new stamp sets in May and one of my favorites is Beyond the Sea.  In this set is an accessory Crab stamp.  I couldn't resist making a "Feeling Crabby" card:

There are also wonderful shells and starfish stamps that make a wonderful subtle background for this trio of crabs. 

The crabs were colored with copic markers and the background was stamped with tattered rose distress ink.

I had the perfect mauve colored cs which I punched the borders with my MS fancy scalloped edge punch.

Two matching brads and this simple note card is ready to cheer up a Crabby friend.

This doesn't have to be a Crabby card,  it could just be for someone who just loves reminders of the beauty of the sea and the soft subtle colors of many of the Ocean's creatures.

It would be so easy to make a note card boxed set that anyone would love to receive.

Bloom and Grow--Flower Girl

I think theis little girl with the wheelbarrow full of flowers, from the newest Artistic Outpost Bloom & Grow stamp plate,  is just precious.  I colored her with copic markers. Isn't she just the cutest?: 

My thought was to color her in vintage colors neutral colors for the hat and pinafore but then I picked this really fun dp and it became what I like to call Modern Vintage.  Now that is a contradiction of visions but I think it works. 

The dp is busy enough I didn't want to add too much other stuffs, so I added a metal butterfly, punched the peachy cardstock with my MS border punch. 

A small half pearl in the upper left hand corner and the wonderful sentiment from the stamp plate which says, :"How does your garden grow?"

Artistic Outpost May Release of 3 Fabulous Stamp Plates!!! Wait till you see!

Artistic Outpost is excited to release our newest rubber stamp collections: Beyond the Sea, Bloom and Grow, and Country Life. To us these stamps represent the good life: love, growth, and friendship. (and a pig thrown in just for jazz).

Beyond the Sea was inspired by the Bobby Darin song, "Beyond the Sea". It features interchangeable main images including the perfect lighthouse, alluring couple, and longing clam digger. Perfect for cards, shadow boxes, and scrapbooking your seashore visits.

I personally love lighthouses and so when I first saw this set I knew I would use this image first :)

I always love to color them with a light beam as that is what I remember from the Lighthouses of the East Coast.

Bloom and Grow and Country Life represent are two halves of one whole. Bloom and Grow features more feminine elements including a perfect seed frame that you can use with so many of our stamps. Country Life includes a little more fun boy imagery including the cutest little pig, chickens, and little boy. Mix and match both of these collections together or with our other collections such as Lovely Day and Home.

I also love to color flowers so this set was a favorite as well.  Here is a card I created with the flower form Bllom and Grow:

I thought it would be so pretty in pinks and pearls, what do you think?

Country Life reminds me of the years we enjoyed the County Fairs with our children.  They showed horses but we always went to look at the exhibits and animal judging.  The pigs reminded me of the litter judging:

I have lots more projects to show you, but I will spread them out over the next few weeks. These sets just had so many possibilities I couldn't stop creating!!!

Artistic Outpost card for the new Release

The Artistic Outpost, Wonderland Collage stamps are available as of yesterday and they are awesome.  I love all of the Artistic Outpost stamp plates, but this new release is one of my favorites.  As amazing as it sounds for a person who has been a reader all of her life, I have never read Alice in Wonderland, nor have I seen the movies.  I know some of the quotes and the gist of the story just because we all do.  Here is my second card created for the new release:  Alice in the Looking Glass is the Classic..........:

Alice in the Looking Glass was so much fun to color.  I tried to keep it soft and vintage with a modern touch.  The main image was cut out around the outside edge and mounted on a panel that I had punched with the beautiful double loop corner and border punch set from Martha Stewart.

Each layer was mounted on white cs to highlight each layer.  The dp are both from the My Mind's Eye Delightful paper pack.

A dark pink gem was added to the sentiment added to the main image.  A medium half pearl was added to the top of the crown.  3 medium half pearls were added to the upper left corner to add a touch of elegance and a dainty pink sheer ribbon was tied around the bottom of the main image.

If you like the Classic Children's stories you will love this set and the possibilities are endless.

Artistic Outpost New Release Sneak Peek #1

Who doesn't love a good story with a lot of fantasy and a hint of quirk? Ok, so with Alice in Wonderland, you get more than a hint of quirk, you get a whole load of zany with a hint of logician philosophy.

I love the White Rabbit image with the clocks and flowers.  Just the style of vintage image I love to color.

Just Because!!!

I have been really busy the past couple of weeks with DT stuff that I can't show you yet :) but I decided that I wanted to color, just because I wanted to color, and chose Mo's Digital Pencil Savannah  on Easter to color.  Here is what I came up with:

I wanted a bright springy image so I used copic markers to color in shades of yellow and yellow-red.

I created the white lacy layer using my new Martha Stewart punch around the corner punch set that I just happened to have a 40% coupon for. 

The yellow dp is from my stash .  The flower in the upper right corner is punched from the same dp .  The half pearls add a bit of elegance to the corners of the lacy punched border.

Artistic Outpost - Serenity

Today I am forgetting that we still have too much snow and that the weather hasn't been warm enough to wash my car and I am showing you this bright simple card created with the wonderful Serenity stamp set from Artistic Outpost.

I love to send cards with just a beautiful sentiment and this particular sentiment is one of my favorite.  The layout of this card was kept fairly simple so the sentiment  and scrolls were the main focus of the card.

The green panel behind the sentiment is a paint chip with the corners punched out with the MS flower border/corner punch.  The faux stitch holes are white gel pen.

I really like the orange base cs this is a quarter of a 4 panel 12X12 sheet I purchased at Michaels.

The upper right hand corner needed a little interest so a sponged circle of cs was layered under the main image layers. 

The brads were added to the circle for an added dimension.

The final touch was the orange paper flower with a brad center in the lower left corner.

My Funny Valentine--Artistic Outpost

Today I decided to post my Artistic Outpost Valentine card.  I couldn't get the song My Funny Valentine out of my head this whole Valentine season so I decided to use the happy clown from Send in the Clowns and make a really fun Valentine. They don't all have to be mushy gushy now do they?

The funny clown from Artistic Outpost's Send in the Clowns set was the first stamp that came to mind when I couldn't get that song out of my head.

The embossed hearts and red quikutz label added some texture to the design.

The flower was created using the MS Hydreanga punches and centered on a  fancy scroll tag in white that was mounted on red cs highlighted with white gel pen faux paper piercing.

The sentiment was computer generated and then the ends were punched with the MS heart border punch.

3 heart decals on the clown suit and red hearts scattered randomly on the white cs and this happy Funny Valentine is ready to share!

Birds of a Feather--Artistic Outpost

My crafting time has been rather limited for the past month but everything is back to normal now so I have time to show you a couple of projects that I created for the January Release at Artistic Outpost.

Birds of a Feather is a wonderful set and birds are always so perfect for almost any occasion.  Here is my note card created with this beautiful set:

The embossing is done with a Quikutz embossing folder.

The oval was outlined with the copic airbrush system as well as the coloring on the robin.

I wanted to keep it rather simple so only tied a brown checked ribbon at the top. 

This would be a wonderful iimage and design (if I do say so myself) for a set of gift cards.

Next I created a simple bookmark using the stamps from the Paris Exposition stamp set which was also released in January:

Very simple design.  I cut a strip of white cardstock 2X6. The corners were punched with the MS fancy corner punch (the one that has the coordinating border punch).   The hole for the colored fibers was punched with a 1/4 inch SU hold punch. 

The balloon themed stamps were the ones that I chose for this bookmark.  The images were stamped randomly down the bookmark using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with copic marker in shades of blue. 

The edges were sponged with brown and blue distress ink and the faux stitching was done with a SU brown journaling pen.

We hope you all are enjoying a day of reflection and re-energizing at the beginning of 2010. We are thankful for a safe and happy holiday season, and we are excited about heading into our third year of bringing our brand of art rubber stamps to you, our talented and valued customers.

As the paper crafting world gears up for the annual extravaganza that is the CHA Show in January, we too will be releasing two BRAND new collection of stamps on January 20th. We will have the same exciting new release specials, and we hope that you are as excited as we are about these two new releases. The stamps are in our hot hands, and we are feverishly getting them packaged and ready to ship in the next couple of weeks. Happy Christmas-Snowy Woods

I wanted to use the beautiful vintage sled from the Artistic Outpost Snowy Woods stamp set.

Snowy Woods is a wonderful stamp set with so many stamps and sentiments that you could make all of your Christmas Cards and have a great variety of cards when you got done.

I wanted to use this beautiful vintage sled with Christmas cargo.  The wreath, package and calendar page are all included in the set. 

the stamped image was colored with copic markers keeping the shading and brightness of the colors to a minimum as I wanted a little bit of a vintage feel. I wanted to make a pretty tag for the sentiment so I created the tag above with a MS corner punch.  A SU ribbon punch was then used to punch the slots for the ribbon to run through and tie, creating a nice bow and tieing the tag  pieces together.

The dp is Basic Grey  Eskimo Kisses  rooftop which I chose because of the cute little village scene.

The red check ribbon looks pretty traditional with the sentiment and sled.

The sparkle on the card is MS glitter which I glued on to look like sled runner tracks and snow drifts.  You can't really see the glitter very well unless you double click on the picture.  The snowflakes are punched with a MS snowflake punch and covered with MS glitter.

White Christmas with Snowy Woods, Artistic Outpost

It's about time to really start creating some Christmas Cards.  My favorite Christmas set for elegant, gorgeous Christmas cards is Snowy Woods from Artistic Outpost.  For this card I have used the boughs and door from this set. 

The images were stamped onto the dark blue card stock using a versamark pad.  I then sprinkles white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set the embossing powder.
I added some sponged white around the bottom and sides to give the appearance of wind blown whisps of snow, you have to use your imagination a little :)
I added MS glitter to the snowflakes which were punched with a MS punch.  A Plaid Christmas ribbon tied in a bow in the upper left corner of the door image and a band of ribbon under the embossed panel.
I love the Snowy Woods stamp plate to color but tonight I decided I wanted to do my favorite Christmas card technique of simple embossing.

Let's Do Lunch?

Mo, of Mo's Digital Pencil, created this super cute image she named Lunchtime but I couldn't resist adding the sentiment "Let's Do Lunch" LOL  The calico cat only looks interested in the veggie tray...... The three mice don't seem concerned about the Calico cat watching them, should they be?

Colored with copic markers and if you can believe it I didn't sponge around the image. I know, it happens, just not often :)

 I picked this fun kitchen dp I got a couple of years ago at my LSS so I don't kmow the name of it, sorry.

Give Thanks!

Today I went back to the Dr. to have my stitches removed from my surgery last week.  Only part of the stitches were removed but the rest will be removed next week.  After fighting an infection at the incision site over the week-end and having to call for antibiotics, all is well and healing.  The biopsy showed that all cancer cells were removed so to celebrate,  I created a Give Thanks card for tonight!
The flowers from The Old Grist Mill stamp plate from Artistic Outpost are so beautiful and I love to color them in fall colors.  Today I used my copic airbrush system to color them.  I love the more impressionistic feel created this way.
The orange checked ribbon is nice on this background with the gently swirled ribbon outlining the sentiment which was stamped with Just Rite stamps.  I love that I can make the sentiments that I want with them.

Happy Halloween Artistic Outpost Style

Today I have an Artistic Outpost Vintage Halloween card for you. It is a rather simple card but it symbolizes some of the things I love about my favorite holiday.

Isn't this cute? I love the pumpkins in the Vintage Halloween stamp set, they are happy pumpkins, not scarey. The tree, Halloween word, fence and pumpkins are all included in the stamp set.

The pumpkins were colored with copic markers and then all images were sponged with SU pumpkin pie ink and then soot distress ink.

I love these silk maple leaves that I bought at Michaels and thought they would add the perfect fall touch to this fun card. A spider and pumpkin brad and my card is ready to display for the Holiday!!!

Digital Two for Tuesday Challenge using Bluebird stamps from Artistic Outpost

Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage challenge gives us 2 images to use and this week we were give the large next in the middle of the card. I thought it would be perfect to combine with the Bluebird stamp plate from Artistic Outpost.

The background paper was created by stamping the script stamp overstamped in Momento London Fog ink which was then overstamped with the birds on the wire stamp randomly stamped all over the background paper.

The left Spellbinder Label 3 label was stamped with the birds on sheet music stamp and the label on the right was stamped with the Bluebird carries the Sky on his back stamp. All were sponged with Tim Holtz vintage photo and broken china distress ink.

The main image is the digital nest that was offered for the Digital Two for Tuesday Vintage challenge this week. I stamped two of the birds from the birds on the wire stamp on the edge of the nest. The single birds are the small birds in flight from the same stamp. The silhouette birds on the wire were stammped as if the birds in flight were going to land on the wire as well.

This was so much fun. I added the Thinking of You sentiment from the Artistic Outpost Bluebird stamp set and all that was left to add were 3 prima flowers oversponged with broken china to coordinate and a dew drop flower center.

It's always fun to mix and match stamp sets for a really cool collage.

Looking for Teen images?

I have teen age granddaughters that I struggle to find cards that they would like to receive. Mo's Digital Pencil has a grouping of 3 images called Dani and friends that are perfect for them. Here is the first one that I have colored:

Isn't she just sassy!!! I went with pink and orange for this image and I love this dp, which I bought because I loved it but have never used it until tonight.

Sponged around the copic colored image with worn lipstick Tim Holtz distress ink. A piece of white grosgrain ribbon and my card is done.

I won't put a sentiment on this yet, but will wait until I am ready to send it to one of the girls.

I just saw that Mo posted a new goth teen on her site tonight so go check out her stuff, she has something for everybody.
