Happy Christmas-Snowy Woods

I wanted to use the beautiful vintage sled from the Artistic Outpost Snowy Woods stamp set.

Snowy Woods is a wonderful stamp set with so many stamps and sentiments that you could make all of your Christmas Cards and have a great variety of cards when you got done.

I wanted to use this beautiful vintage sled with Christmas cargo.  The wreath, package and calendar page are all included in the set. 

the stamped image was colored with copic markers keeping the shading and brightness of the colors to a minimum as I wanted a little bit of a vintage feel. I wanted to make a pretty tag for the sentiment so I created the tag above with a MS corner punch.  A SU ribbon punch was then used to punch the slots for the ribbon to run through and tie, creating a nice bow and tieing the tag  pieces together.

The dp is Basic Grey  Eskimo Kisses  rooftop which I chose because of the cute little village scene.

The red check ribbon looks pretty traditional with the sentiment and sled.

The sparkle on the card is MS glitter which I glued on to look like sled runner tracks and snow drifts.  You can't really see the glitter very well unless you double click on the picture.  The snowflakes are punched with a MS snowflake punch and covered with MS glitter.

White Christmas with Snowy Woods, Artistic Outpost

It's about time to really start creating some Christmas Cards.  My favorite Christmas set for elegant, gorgeous Christmas cards is Snowy Woods from Artistic Outpost.  For this card I have used the boughs and door from this set. 

The images were stamped onto the dark blue card stock using a versamark pad.  I then sprinkles white embossing powder and used my heat gun to set the embossing powder.
I added some sponged white around the bottom and sides to give the appearance of wind blown whisps of snow, you have to use your imagination a little :)
I added MS glitter to the snowflakes which were punched with a MS punch.  A Plaid Christmas ribbon tied in a bow in the upper left corner of the door image and a band of ribbon under the embossed panel.
I love the Snowy Woods stamp plate to color but tonight I decided I wanted to do my favorite Christmas card technique of simple embossing.

Let's Do Lunch?

Mo, of Mo's Digital Pencil, created this super cute image she named Lunchtime but I couldn't resist adding the sentiment "Let's Do Lunch" LOL  The calico cat only looks interested in the veggie tray...... The three mice don't seem concerned about the Calico cat watching them, should they be?

Colored with copic markers and if you can believe it I didn't sponge around the image. I know, it happens, just not often :)

 I picked this fun kitchen dp I got a couple of years ago at my LSS so I don't kmow the name of it, sorry.

I am working on a couple of Artistic Outpost cards using my favorite Christmas stamp set, Snowy Woods that I will post tomorrow night.

Christmas in June?

Hi everyone!
It really isn't too early to start thinking about Christmas cards is it? If you have lots of cards to make like me you need to start before Dec. 1 :)
Snowy Woods is a beautifully designed stamp plate from Artistic Outpost. Here are two cards that I made using the plate:

The image was stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copic markers. I used a white gel pen for the beard and sponged with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink.

The door scene is one of my favorite images from Snowy Woods. I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the image and colored with copic markers. Highlights were done with the white gel pen. The Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink was used to sponge the edges and then I over sponged with Adirondak Cranberry ink.

The Happy Christmas sentiment is one of the sentiments included in the stamp plate and plaid ribbon, purchased after Christmas at Michaels, finish the card.

My Favorite Snowy Woods so far

Second post of the day, bear with me, I have been doing a lot of creating and not much posting in the past couple of weeks.

I had a real problem with this image because I really liked the way that the coloring (copic markers) turned out and I was really afraid that I would ruin it or totally distract from it's beauty in creating my card. I have a lot more confidence in my coloring than my card making. I just received this set, Snowy Woods from Artistic Outpost, last week and this was the first image that I colored. It was one of those images that you go back and look at and say " oh, I really like the way that turned out".

The main image was stamped on Georgia Pacific white cardstock and the edges were sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo. I stamped the evergreen branch in the same distressed Vintage Photo ink around the main image, masking the image so as not to over stamp the colored portions. I added a piece of SU red riding hood ribbon.

I mounted the image on a piece of DP from Stampin Up and mounted that on brown and then mounted all onto a piece of brown cardstock.

I used the same stack of colors for the center panel placed in the middle of the card. I didn't know what sentiment that I wanted to use but I found this phrase from a set of rub ons from SU that I thought was perfect and fit in the space that I had allotted for the sentiment. Lucky me!

I added the brown dew drops and circle clip and my card was done.

And a Good Time was NOT had by All!

I left Saturday morning to pick up my husband in Kansas City, a 3 and a half hour trip one way. When I left it was raining and 35 degrees. I got to Kansas City and it was 52 and sunny. So far so good. While I was waiting for my husband and son to arrive at our pick up point about 3:00 my daughter inOmaha called and said that they were in an ice storm and Omaha was pretty much shut down. I called my daughter in Kansas City and had her look at the Iowa Road Report and see when I would be running into the bad weather going home. It looked like I 29 as drivable to Omaha but the roads east and west were treacherous. So I could get to Omaha but couldn't probably get home. Yeah!

We left Kansas City about 4:00 and the weather was dry but starting to get cloudy, okay. We stopped in Platte City and it was okay. We stopped in Mound City for coffee and a potty break and it was starting to drizzle, still okay. By the time we went the next 20 miles to Rock Port it was freezing rain on the windshield and you could tell that the shoulders were a glaze of ice. We pulled in at Rock Port to see what the roads actually were like and it was to slick to continue. Got a hotel room for the night and made it home safe and sound this morning.

I feel like I took the 3 hour tour with the crew of Gilligan's Island but at least we didn't get stranded on a deserted island ha ha!

Enough of that, I got some new Artistic Outpost stamps last week. I love the cute stamps by other companies, and I buy a lot of them :), but when I want to really feel artistic I color my Artistic Outpost stamp images. This card was made with the Snowy Woods plate which I really liked but had a lot of Christmas Stamps already this year, but when it went on sale I had to have it.

Because this set has a stamp phrase that is part of the last paragraph of the Robert Frost poem I copied the poem from my computer, changed the font to script and printed it on white cardstock. I cut the poem to the size that I wanted and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Weathered Wood ink.

The bearded man image, which I had stamped onto a vanilla tag, was colored with copic markers and the edge was sponged with the same weather wood ink. The backgrond paper is from K & Company Ocean stack pack I had purchased at Michaels.
The only photo frame tab I had was a polished antique silver so I colored it with a copic marker to match the antique bronze brads I had chosen.

I added two strips of velvet ribbon under the brad to finish the card.

I also made this super cute (IMO) Valentine card using the Cutie Pie majorette stamp from Artistic Outpost:

I really like the look of the frame punched with a corner rounder punch. It is a little tricky to do until you have tried it several times but I love the detail it adds. I colored the little majorette and her dog with copic markers and because I had to mount it onto a larger piece of white cardstock to fit inside the frame I used my Copic Atyou red glitter pen to trace around the majorette image. I added a red heart brad in each corner. I popped the main image onto the card base designer paper with pop dots.

The Heart and Flower Designer paper is from a Spring Stack Pack that I had gotten at Joanne's a couple of years ago.

I finished the card with the cute Be My Valentine heart which I attached with a pop dot as well.

I have more cards to show you but I am going to take a break and will post again tonight.
