Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Vintage, Cream and White with Lace

Wow, where do the weeks go, it is already time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge and the theme this week is Vintage Cream and White by our hostess Judy. I chose Patience Secret:

I colored Sassy Sally in the image Patience Secret with copic markers and then  cut it out by hand with her friends the lady bugs who just happens to be at a Garage Sale with all of her Grandma's beautiful vintage stuff.  The dress form with the beautiful hand made pink flower,  Sally laid down on the grass to contemplate the things, memories and visions she can only imagine.  A string of faux pearls finishes off the Vintage feel for me.  A wooden die butterfly, a couple of  TH sentiments on the banner and mannequin, and my Vintage Cream and White card is complete. Even with a touch of pink I think it is pretty close to being a perfect challenge card....

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT challenge cards they are awesome and grab a Sassy Cheryl's image and play along for a chance to win a chance to win two Sassy Cheryl's images in the random drawing held each week.  Someone gets to win and it might as well be you.

It's Tuesday and that means a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge, and a super fun theme of BFF, (Best Friends Forever),  for which I chose Maddie and Max, That's What Friends are For:

Mo's Digital Pencil--Turquoise!

Thursday is Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge day and that means another wonderful Challenge...the theme this week is Turquoise and I chose Yeehaw:

What a fun challenge theme and I loved this Old Guy Mo created...maybe I can relate to the old people....maybe they are just too fun to color, you decide LOL.  Colored with copic markers and sponged with distress inks.  over stamped with my crackle stamp ( I love this for antique look images) and then I mounted my image on some Old Guys Rule dp I had in my stash.

I added a lot of fun vintage embellishments, film onto which I added a rub on sentiment.  I added an Oldie but Goodie round sentiment on a wiggly wobbly dimensional thingy,( technical crafty term ),  I had made some time ago.  A couple of metal photo corners and  a ribbon I tied onto a tiny label I had punched with a ribbon and tied the ribbon through a tied the bow and topped with the button.    I love the way it turned out.

Be sure to drop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created, I know they will have some awesome cards.  While you are there, grab an image or two and play along for a chance to win one of the 5 dollar gift certificates, one for each 25 entries in the challenge, pretty generous huh!!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Fun and Games!

It is Tuesday and time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.  Our Challenge theme this week is Fun and Games and I chose the darling image, Maddie is Flying High, for my card:

I love the way the colors of this card turned out.  I ended up covering up most of the DP but it is trees and it looked like Maddie was flying through the trees, oh well, I just had so much fun with all of my embellishments, but I couldn't stop myself. Clouds and All   First I had this lamp post: I punched a small 1/2 inch circle from vellum and sponged with brown and blue distress ink to give the illusion of a street light globe, I loved the way it turned out :)   No wonder it takes me hours to color an image LOL.

A few hand made flowers sponged with brown and blue to blend in and a Travel tag to which I added a wood button tied with bakers twine.  I really like the way that everything came together and Maddie just flew into Fun and Games for summer fun.
Stop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT Sassies created and grab a Sassy image and see  what you can create for the challenge. You might be the lucky winner of the random drawing for two Sassy images.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil--Love!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge this week is Love and I took a little different twist on the usual theme, imagine that :)  I used Johnny Baseball:

To me summer means lots of sports and my girls played softball and my son played baseball, so this cute little guy just caught my fancy.  Omaha just hosted the NCAA College World Series and we have a minor league baseball team for the Kansas City Royals so Baseball is pretty much all around here in the summer.

Colored the image with copics and sponged with TH distress ink on the base shaped image layer.
The Twill tape is stamped with the Take Me out to the Ball Game and baseball stitching and I have a whole roll of it :) The rest of the Sentiments are computer generated.  The star is die cut and attached to a round paper clip to hold the Love sentiment.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards and see what they have created for the Love theme, grab a Mo image and play along for a chance to win a 5 dollar gift certificate given for every 25 entries.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative week.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Hats Off!!

Hello, time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Hats Off.  A very cool challenge with all of the new Sassy Cheryl images with hats!!! I chose Firefly Frenzy Maddie:

I had so much fun coloring and adding embellishments to this sweet image.  Maddie and her jar of fireflies just reminds me of the days that I used to catch them, put them in a jar but always left the lid off at night so they could escape and not die :) I mounted her on a green tag and added 3 cute buttons and a wise Owl to guard her on her night of firefly hunting. You can get Maddie with fireflies, Max with Fireflies or an image with both Maddie and Max, how cool is that.

I added a banner, which I kind of stole the idea for from some I have seen, I went to the site that sells them, but I couldn't justify 16.95 for a die plus shipping so I cut out 4 rectangles,  cut out the triangles at the bottom, punched out the hearts and glued them to some baker's twine, not quite the same but I like it.  I added a nice strip of pink cs I punched a nice MS border on both sides and added some TH washi tape down the middle and a pretty pink button at the top.

Be sure to drop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT created for the Hats off challenge and leave them some love and grab a Sassy Image from the Store and play along. Thanks to everyone who played along in the Americana/Red White and Blue Challenge last week, we had a great turn out considering it was a Holiday week.  Wonderful cards.

Have a wonderful creative week and thanks for stopping by.

Heart Memory Box for my Bathroom-Yeah Really LOL

I  just repainted my bathroom off my craft room a couple of weeks ago and needed some kind of print or decor above the toilet and couldn't decide whether to make it or thrift shop something?!?  I was bored on Wednesday and so I made a quick dash to Michael's and found some Memory boxes on sale for 4.99 instead of the usual 14.99.  I grabbed this heart thinking I could make something for my bathroom.  This is what I came up with.

I enjoy making cards, but I love creating altered projects, it took me hours to find and print and cut out all of the images I used for my different sections.  The heart was brown to begin with and I painted it with Tim Holtz white crackle paint and because I am such a patient person dried it with my heat gun so I could keep working :).

I knew I wanted an outhouse so I found one on line and printed it out the appropriate size and but it out for the upper left hand corner.  I cut out my new cute bicycle, two gate sections, a flower and added a wood die cut flower stem with leaves and a bird which I added to the roof of the outhouse.
The other top section I added a arch window which I mounted on mounted tape for dimention I found a man and woman which I printed and cut out and the Vintage directional finger often used to point to restrooms  and a medium size flower.

Lower bottom I added some stripe dp and added some clothes pins in two different sizes, wood buttons and a cute clother hanger which I just love all of these darling embellishments and rather perfect since my craft room, bathroom is right next to my laundry room :)

My final section is of course my favorite because I love to make flowers by hand, I use my Sizzix Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die and cut each plate out 4 times so that each flower would have lots of fullness.  I crumpled each piece into a ball, and after uncrumpling each piece, I punched a hole with my frog stabber, I not to play with the flowers too much because they can be a little fragile after I have beat them up as much as I have but I usually scrunch them up a bit if needed.  The two smaller flowers are made using my cuttlebug quill die cut set.
To finish this section I airbrushed a string of faux pearls grey and added  translucent seed beads.  A couple of dragon flies which I sponged with distressed ink and a butterfly which I also sponged with distress ink.  A couple of wooden die cut leaves and my project is done.

Thanks for stopping by to see my project.  I am trying to decide if I want to hang it with ribbon or alone.  Any suggestions are welcome.  Leave them in the comment area :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Hugs
Cathy

First of all, Happy 4th of July, to my friends in the USA.  It is time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge and the theme is: Begins with "F", and thought it would be fun to use the new Birthday Girl called, Whoopee, because I think she is "F"abulous:

I love, love, love the images that depict the Oldies but Goodies in all their glory and this one just makes me Laugh, I think it could very well be me in a few years :)  Fabulous Dahling!!! Colored with copics and distressed with TH distressed inks,  Mounted on some rose flowered, pink checked and white cs.  A strip of musical TH washi tape was added to the pink and white checked dp.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Americana/Red White and Blue

Woo Hoo, It is Tuesday and time for a newSassy Cheryl's Challenge, and I get to be the Hostess.  I chose Americana because I love it and because in the USA it is 2 days before July 4th, yep July 2nd is two days before July 4th when we celebrate Independence Day.  They really let me graduate high school back in the dark ages.  I chose the too stinkin cute, Honoring the Flag--Maddie, to make my card:

Red, White and Blue to me is Americana,  Americana is Vintage, Vintage is Antique and Antique is distressed, so that is the direction my card took and Maddie followed that direction very well, I really like the way this little card turned out colored with copics, distressed with a lot of Tim Holtz distressed inks  and a little ink splattering, yeah I had a ball :)

The cute bicycle in the lower right corner is a free SVG file you can find on my pinterest board and the banner I made and punched holes with a tiny hole punch to string the bakers twine through to make it look just the way it wanted it to.   I created a red white and blue cutttlebug flower and then paint splattered it as I also did the bicycle, and banner.  The Peace sentiment is Tim Holtz also.

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created for the challenge and be sure to drop by the new Sassy DT members blogs to welcome them and leave them a little love.  We are very excited to have them join us for the next few months and seeing their wonderful Sassy creations.
