Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--April Showers Bring Flowers

Time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge, hostess Ms Dawn, who thinks that we should usher in Spring with April Showers Bring Flowers!!! I went more with the Flowers with the sweet Sally and Patient Secret:

I merged the flower pot and Sally with her parade of lady bugs for my Spring flower image.  I decided to cut out a second set of flowers to give the flowers more dimension.  The image was mounted on photo mounting tape to give it more depth.  The lace ribbon has a band of elastic onto which I mounted a die cut bird.
The fun embellishments are a ladybug gracing the silver corner mount, a Happy Thoughts tag,  and a polka dot butterfly.  It all screams Spring to me.

Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the DT has created, then grab a Sassy image and play along to win a couple of images in the weekly random drawing.  Remember you MUST use a Sassy image to enter the challenge.  We love to see your entries and visit your blogs or galleries :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Pastels

Is it Thursday already?!?  Then it is time for a new Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge, and the theme is Pastels, brought to you by the super talented, Franz.  My choice for this challenge is the adorable image  Howdy:

I stayed in shades of pink and that is usually about as pastel as I get, not really a pastel kinda gal LOL.  I do love earth tones so I kind of went with the rosey pinks which for me are pastels :).  Work with me here....a doile,  some bakers twine tied up in a pretty button, a trio of pink and white hand made flowers and a wood die cut flower to help accentuate the sentiment and my little pastel cowgirl is ready to rope her pony and go for a ride.

This reminds me of when my kids were growing up and we had horses, they loved to ride and showed horses in 4H, those were wonderful memories.

Be sure to stop by the Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the DT cards, grab a Mo image and play along with the pastel challenge. For every 25 entries Mo gives a gift certificate to the Store, so the more that enter the more chances to win :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day, or week :)

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Monochromatic Colors

WooHoo, It's Tuesday and that means time for a new Sassy Cheryl's Challenge!!! This week our hostess Dawn, the very talented, Llama Mama, chose Monochromatic colors as the theme.  I chose, My Favorite Kind of Weather, as my image for this Challenge:

I think my monochromatic colors are blues and neutrals, I hope that works :)  The sweet image was colored with copic markers and mounted on craft with a bow of bakers twine tied at the bottom.  I thought a double mounting of the dotted dp.

Once again I had to use a wooden word die cut I got at Archivers and a flower die cut i just got a Michaels.  Aren't they just too cute?

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards and see what they have created for your viewing pleasure.  This should be an easy peasy challenge for everyone, so grab a Sassy Cheryl's image and play along.  We know you want to.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

Every week on Wednesday, My Favorite Things has a new Sketch Challenge and I very seldom get a chance to play along, but for some strange reason this week I had new MFT stamps, dies and time so decided to play along :) so I did:

I love the Pure Innocence kids and Little birdie Told Me was just too irresistable when I was placing my Die- Namics order the other night so she just jumped into my cart along with Hang in There, which I may use soon, time permitting.   I cut out this little darling, which I colored with copics and mounted her on some plaid dp which I thought coordinated beautifully with the pink polka dot I had chosen for the pendants required for the sketch.
The flower is also one of my new dies which I kind of revamped to suit myself, it is the Hibiscus and you are really only supposed to use one layer but I like to use 3 and scrunch them up and make a different type flower out of it  The angle of the photo makes it look a little disproportionate, but IRL it is not.
I had tons of fun taking time to play in the challenge and hope to get this sent to one of my friends one of these days.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Things with Wings

Wow, it is Thursday already and time for Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge brought to you by the wonderfully talented Debbie, who chose the theme, Things with Wings.  Here is my take on the Challenge theme:

I love the Big Guy images and had  Big Guy's Bike colored  and really wanted to use it this week so the theme needed an imaginative twist to make this happen :)  I love the 5 little fairies, and they have wings, this is working, and you have to admit that the Big Guy is not paying any attention and is in desperate need of someone to watch where he is going, right,.... just agree, this is my story, and it is working!!!  I attached my sweet little fairy, alias guardian angel, on a hand made springy thingy,( technical term ) I think they are sold as wigglies, but I made my own using 1 inch circles and a coil of wire taped between them.

Be sure to chec out the rest of the DT cards and see what Winged beauties they have created for you to see and grab a Mo image and play along. Always a chance to win a 5 dollar gift certificate for every 25 entries, so why not play along as Mo has lots of winged images :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Anything Goes

Whoo Hoo!!!  Time for another Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.... Ms Jackie is our hostess this week with the chosen theme , Anything Goes, so go wild LOL:

Max in Who Burst Your Bubble,  was colored with distress inks and an aqua brush, I like the way it turned out and find this to be my second favorite coloring technique next to using copics :)  I added one of my new addiction wooden owls next to the Who in the sentiment, just in case you didn't catch the inference  :)

I mounted my image with a couple of tabs attached with dots , on the side bar I used a strip of washi tape I made, yep I made it myself, and added a couple of embellishments in the corners for interest, after all Anything Goes.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards/projects and see what they have created for you to see and grab an image or two and play along for a chance to win a couple of images in the random drawing held each week.  You just need to use a Sassy Cheryl's image, so if you don't have one, or if you need some new ones drop by the Store.

Have a wonderful creative day :)

I made my own Washi Tape

I have been looking at all of the pretty paper , Washi,  tape everyone has been using and wanted some but it can get really expensive if you start buying it to go with all of your different colors and designs, so I went to You Tube and it has been around for a while (yeah, where have I been )  and there are some interesting videos on how to make it yourself.

I watched a couple of videos and took some ideas from several of them and came up with this:  I used Double sided tape, I bought two different widths, 1 inch and half inch, and used tissue paper I already had, which by the way took me hours to find grrrrr, that's what I get for cleaning and putting things away LOL.  I had mint green, pink, neon orange white, and a pretty vintage roses.  I did find them, as I am relentless :)

Because you only need to make a few strips at a time if you want you can make a little or a lot, but while I was making it I thought I would make a few strips and because I didn't want to have to keep stamping and stamping the strips I decided to use my Stampin Up wheel stamps, after all I have them and the ink cartridges so they get a continuous ink supply so that is what I used...

As you can see the printing is reversed as the tape is placed on the back side of the tissue paper after I rolled on the stamped image.  You can also put the tape on the tissue paper and then roll on the sentiment if you prefer, either way works.because you will trim the tissue to the width of the tape to finish it.

I wish I had an ink cartridge for the jumbo handle but I only have them for the small roller which is the sentiment I used for the tape I made in the sample.
Here is how you place the tape on the sentiment after it has been rolled onto the tissue paper.  You have to be careful not to get wrinkles in the paper as they will not come on and the tape is not repositionable, don't ask me how I know :).  If you use white you can airbrush the tissue if you don't have colored tissue paper also.  The adhesive is clear so the red is just the removable strip of my tape I bought at Michael's.

Maybe you can see the samples above a little better with the white polka dots how it shows up on the tissue paper and then I have the tape on the pink tissue below which will be clear once the backing is pulled off :).

I have an example of a finished pink strip I made with half inch tape and pink tissue paper and Sienna ink cartridge.

I don't usually do tutorials of what I do but I thought this was fun and someone else might have roller wheels and might want to make some washi tape too.  You can certainly stamp onto the tissue paper too and not use the wheels it would certainly turn out the same but I am kind of a lazy stamper and try to save time whenever I can.  and I love using what I already own when I can, just don't tell my  husband :) that can be our secret.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge--Use Fabric!!

It's Thursday and time for a new, Mo's Challenge, and our fantabulous hostess Jackie chose the theme, Use Fabric...what fun...and a challenge LOL. I used the image, Fabulous, and felt:

Isn't this adorable image Fabulous!!! I colored it with copics and since the challenge was to use fabric I decided to create some fabric flowers using felt. I cut two sizes of circles and then cut the spirals so I could make the rosettes you see above, just like you do with paper. Attached them to a strip of cloth rick rack, added a metalic star and a beautiful and a silver corner bracket.
Be sure to check out the rest of the DT fabric added cards/projects to see what they created, and be sure to enter the challenge for a chance to win one of the random 5 dollar gift certificates given for each 25 entries.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day!!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge--Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday and Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Day to you. We have a wonderful sketch from Sassy Judy to share with you all today for the Challenge. I chose to use Max, Quiet Moments, for my card:

Sketch Challenges take half the work out of the challenge for you LOL. The boat is actually supposed to be one of the toys but I enlarged it and merged Max onto it and I really like the way it turned out :) Colored with copics and although they are a little light I sponged in a few light summery clouds in the sky.
The electronics on the left side are die cuts I just got from MFT and I cut them from red metalic cardstock, You have to have cameras and MP3 players on your voyages for all the Good Times!!! The flower is also a new Die, you all know how I love to make flowers. I added some TH file strips in keeping with the picture theme for my nautical Good Times Voyage card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards and see what they created using this awesome sketch. Grab a new image and play in the challenge for a chance to be the winner of 2 images in the next random challenge drawing. Here is the sketch:
