This week we have a wonderful new, Mo's Digital Challenge, with hostess Elaine, which is School's Out. I chose to take the image a rather different way but if you know me you would understand :) and chose the image Dragon Hugs:
Do you wonder why I chose the image for the School's Out theme? I have always been under the impression that schools have to have worksheets and busywork and large group stuff because of the teacher student ratio of public schools, BUT when school is not in session or when my kids were home it was : If you don't have a book to read,,..write one... don't give them a coloring book give them a piece of paper and colors, markers or colored pencils. Instead of watching TV go out and see what animals you can see in the clouds from the back of your horse ( an option my kids had :)or better yet, watch the people on the street, better usually than TV. or at least it was when my kids were younger, not too sure I would recommend it today :). I thought the Tim Holtz sentiment said it for me perfectly.
I loved coloring this image with copic markers and mounting it on school dp. I used some red and white checked ribbon and 3 buttons as my only embellishments to keep it rather masculine.
Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards on the challenge blog and I know you are gonna love what you see. Be sure to grab a Mo's image and play along in the challenge for a chance to win a 5 dollar gift certificate randomly drawn for every 25 entries, pretty good huh!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful creative day.

Like your thinking Cathy. My kids and Grans were raised the same, Never thought about the clouds though. That is a great one. I absolutely love the way you colored the dragon. The blue/green combo looks fantastic. You definitely were using your imagination here!
Cathy!
Your card is so cute! Love the sentiment.

Too lovely Cathy, love colours you used on the dragon!
Hugs, Franz.
Cathy saw this card on the way to your SC challenge card and had to stop and tell you much I love it. That sentiment is perfect and all children should be raised to think this way. Your coloring is gorgeous as always.
