Day#3 Sneak Peek "Time is a Circus"

I really love all of the images that are available in the Vintage Circus Stamp plate on sale now at Artistic Outpost. I colored the image of the man holding the lion cub with copic markers. I wanted the appearance of a much loved, much carried around picture so I used UTEE(Ultra Thick Embossing powder) to create the cracked glass effect. I sponged over the top of the cracks to accentuate them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Ranger Inks and Tim Holtz.

I mounted the main image on brown cardstock and added the antique brass brads. I found this really neat background paper with all sorts of travel signs and the luggage tag which gave it the world traveler image I was looking for.

I stamped the circus ticket on red cardstock and crumpled it up to add texture and aged appearance. I stamped the words CIRCUS on light brown cardstock and airbrushed it to give the appearance of weathered leather. I attached the ticket and Circus pieces with a circle clip and my card was complete.

Using the same photo image, of the man holding the lion, I created another quick card by just stamping the image in Antique Linen Distress ink on a white top note die cut panel. I over stamped the sentiment in Distressed Vintage Photo ink. I sponged two different distress inks, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo, on the edges to darken the edges and highlight the faded photo image I wanted for the main focal point.

I tied a strand of twine around the right side of the top note panel and attached that to a dark brown cardstock to which I had added a narrow striped accent piece of designer paper. I used the same striped designer paper with the stripes opposite for the background. The final base is a textured brown cardstock.

Tomorrow I will have a couple of "anything but a card" projects so be sure to check it out.
