Look Ma no Copics!!!

I know, what is up with that? I wanted to do an old favorite watercolor technique to create a card for Theresa's color challenge on StampTV this week. The challenge was to use purple/lavendar flowers on your card.

The way I do this technique is that I swipe a damp paper towel over my stamp that I want to use and color in with my SU watercolor crayons. I wet the paper GP white lightly and dab off the excess water. I stamp immediately with the colored stamp and wallaah you have a stamped image that looks watercolored. After I have several images stamped on I then just use a damp paper towel to wet the area that I am going to stamp so that I don't get any bleeding.

I know this isn't the technical way to do this technique but it has worked for me for a long time and I don't have any watercolor paper so do the best I can with what I have.

The stamp set I used was GinaK Designs Tropical Flowers. They are perfect for this technique.

I just punched the top and bottom of the watercolored image with my MS border punch, mounted on a pretty purple cs I got at WalMart. It is recycled paper that is produced by K & Company. It is a 5/7 matt pack and there are 3 or 4 color choices.

Hope you like the card today. Tomorrow I will have the weekly Friday challenge card for Hanna Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Cathy
