Here is my first card using the Dog Gone Stamps and I absolutely love this little creature, lizard, gecco, just cute creature that I had to color him first.
The Dog Gone Stamp Group on Paper Craft Planet are having a weekly sketch challenge. I missed week one because I didnt have my stamps yet, but here is the challenge card I did for week 2. I followed the sketch almost to the measurement, I know it doesn't happen often :), and I like the way it turned out.
The little lizard is hanging on to the leaf because I wanted the sentiment to say"Hang in There". I think the image kind of works for that.
I colored the lizard with copic markers and used my copic airbrush to add a faint background color behind the image. I then sponged the outside edges with Tim Holtz Distress Brushed Corduroy ink. I used a piece of one inch brown grosgrain ribbon as the verticle band on the left side. The main piece of designer paper is a mat stack in 5X7 from JoAnn's.
I didn't have anything I liked for the circle feature that was supposed to be to the left of the flag so I found a button the size I wanted, and sprayed it with my copic airbrush to brown. The original color was a light olive green. I let the button dry and added a piece of olive green satin ribbon from Target, which I tied in a knot bow.
I didn't have a stamp that said Hang in There so I wrote it, I did use my best handwriting!?!
This was a fun challenge to do. I need to go back and do challenge 1 now that I have my stamps.
I am going to end this now and go color some more, because I can. I may actually post another card tonight, depending on how much coloring I decide to do. You just never know about me!
Have a good night.
